I didn't believe it at first, though I wasn't knowledgable on sound engineering, so when I got the free MP3 version from Amazon along with the CD I was excited and just began using the MP3 version ignoring the CD. Big mistake. At first I was really disappointed with the effects it was having. I never did feel like was going into any level of meditation. In fact I felt more agitated and restless afterwards. I blamed the Gamma waves first, believing it was having a caffeine like effect. But I read that the Gamma state of consciousness is supposed to be deeply meditative with an extremely focused awareness. So I blamed the music. But then I remembered the review blaming the MP3 format and I decided to test it out. I ripped the CD using the Apple Lossless Encoder which ripped everything with no compression. I was AMAZED! The meditative states I went into using this format was just incredible and really just beyond description. I tried it several times, switching back and forth, just to confirm my suspicions. I was convinced. I am going to do this with all the Dr. Thompson CDs I have. I don't know about other entrainment music that use brainwave synchronization technology, but with Dr. Thompson's technology, it MUST be ripped with Lossless encoding, or the CD played directly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Exquisite but "only" in FLAC format *by P***. on Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2017* I bought this CD many years ago and downloaded to Mac devices on ITunes. Knowing about binaural brain entrainment led me to be very careful about the digital formatting, even with MP3 downloads. Any loss in the downloading could render this type of meditation ineffective. The CD on my devices was pleasant but I always felt something was flat and that I wasn't experiencing the brain entrainment effect as the author intended. With more research Amazon support confirmed that their digital downloads do not support FLAC format, and neither does Apple ITunes.So last night I purchased this CD in FLAC digital download from the author to my Mac devices with a free app Flacbox......and, boy!!!! The music was so much more rich, nuanced, and like from another world. I could experience shifts in body sensations and the binaural effect through my head, which felt like my brain was getting a massage. I have not had similar effects with digital downloads on Amazon, Amazon Music, or ITunes.
