New School Macramé: A contemporary knotting manual for over 100 fresh fibre projects

If you are looking for a book that actually has great instructions, this is the book. She clearly writes out the steps with multiple photos showing you each step. I’ve looked at other books that vaguely describe the steps, but Terri is descriptive and I appreciate that A Lot! I love how she gives different patterns and then gives you soooo many templates in the back. There are templates for all different sizes of work including multiple alphabet styles. Finally, I really like that she lists resources on where she buys her supplies and what they are called. If you are looking to perfect the vertical knot then this is the book you NEED. 100% worth it!

I’ve never read a macrame guide as far-reaching and wonderful as this one! Watson’s instructions are thorough; her expertly-timed “pro-tips” always come at the perfect moment in each pattern; and I really appreciated the range of designs, all accompanied with helpful difficulty ratings. The titles and descriptions of projects are witty, injecting a little dose of cheeky humour into a genre that (let’s face it) can often be dry :) But this manual thinks of everything, and leaves me feeling inspired to learn VCH macrame.I can’t get over this book’s inviting photos! And this is to say nothing about the EXTENSIVE pattern library at the end. There’s so much value here because not only do you get 10 unique projects fully guided step-by-step, but you also get a gazillion take away designs.My only qualm about this book is that it’s hard to choose a favourite pattern. But…if forced to, I would say that the “Sunsational Retro Jacket Panel” steals my heart.Hands down, this is THE essential macrame guide for any creative person’s library and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!

I haven't created anything from this book, yet, but it all looks doable and the instructions seem very clear. I am looking forward to learning these new macrame techniques.
