Hi, thanks for your question. You can just peel them off directly from the backing paper, and they will come off clean.

Is each phrase one sticker or is each word it's own sticker that you need to piece together?

They are mostly separate words on a sticker….1-2 words on a sticker depending on the phrase. It was really easy and they can be peeled off and reapplied if the alignment is off.
