Easy to use software, Reads all car systems
I tested this alongside a few other dongles that I have to see if this newer platform is better than the old one I was using. The good news is that this platform is more complete and user friendly (most of the time) vs the previous platform I was using. The dongle is reasonably fast and responsive when using the app and is able to scan my car systems quickly.I was able to Diagnose an issue with my Chevy SS AC and Power steering using this module. Overall great platform, might switch all my stuff onto this platform now.

Doesn't connect to advertised systems and resists deletion of personal data
I bought this specifically because it said that it would connect to TCM. It didn't. Values were sometimes weird, such as presenting temperature as either true or false. When I was ready to delete the account that I was required to set up, the app referred me to the website and the website referred me to the app, with neither actually allowing deletion of my account. The best thing about this product is that it was no hassle to return.

Mostly works, but what a chore to get it working!
When I got this I unpacked it and tossed it in the truck to use later. When I finally did, I learned that it required an activation key that is found in the manual.Activation key? Oh yes, this $90 device also requires you to set up an account with an email address, register your device with the serial number and activation code, and provide GPS location of where you are using it to activate it. I contacted the seller and after two days and a few exchanges they helpfully provided me the activation code necessary to get it working, but that's way more than I think this should have required. I understand that their business model requires that people pay extra for additional functionality, but if I want to pay extra for something, that is when I'd like to register. After registering, the app was able to download the configuration for the manufacturer of my vehicle, and I was able to conduct a scan (although some vehicles it couldn't seem to automatically identify the database it needed to work with ... even when I already had the proper one). There were no significant issues reported on my truck, but it did flag a couple of minor ones. When I clicked for more information it opened up a browser within the app and did a Google search. Oh thanks. When I ran this on another (older) vehicle with known issues it was able to connect but didn't seem to detect those problems. I find that concerning.I was able to monitor some systems within the vehicles (RPMs, speeds, temperatures, etc).It says it saves reports, but I must be doing something wrong since no saved reports are available.Comparing this to my BlueDriver scanner, I'd say spend a few extra bucks on the BlueDriver in a heartbeat. The BlueDriver scans better, has better reporting on live sensor feeds from the vehicle, provides better reporting on problems (how common they are, what the reported fixes were), reports are saved automatically and can be referenced to see changes over time, and I don't think any account, activation, or GPS reporting is necessary to use it.The Thinkdiag scanner in comparison feels kludged together, has an unpolished and non-intuitive interface, harvests excess data, and seems built on the upsell model. That said, if the slight difference in price is that big of a hurdle, then this will (probably) get you the error codes you can look up on Google to find the solution ... but at that point you might as well go with one of those $30 dedicated scanners.

Great for what it is
As an ODB reader, this is one of the best around. It downloads software on your phone to interface with, but by doing so, it gives the best chance of knowing what is actually going on with your car. While I have not yet been able to figure out whether this device can actually be used to program the car's features (like rolling windows down on unlocking via fob and other "dealer" programable options, this does absolutely everything else I might want or need.
