The FastCap 3-H Low Profile Disposal Jack is engineered for efficiency, featuring a robust 6" x 6" base, a precision pump mechanism, and an adjustable lift range from 4" to 13". It can lift up to 15 lbs while securely holding up to 200 lbs, making it an essential tool for any professional looking to streamline their workflow.

One trivial change would dramatically increase the weight capacity
I agree with the other reviewer who said the price should be about half what it is. They used a simplistic design for the release that is dangerous, as others have pointed out. I found that squeezing the lift handle before trying to release smooths the release, but then you need a third hand to keep the disposer from toppling. Also, mine broke on first use when the nylon cap securing the rod striped its threads, and my disposal is only about 12 pounds. A steel nut should secure the rod with the nylon cap simply protecting the exposed threads (and the user). If that is the actual design, then the assembler left out the nut. The manufacturer did not respond to my query, so I can't be certain, but there seems to only be enough threads on the rod to accommodate the nylon cap. Finally, they put a single notch in the base plate to let the disposal cord pass through, but odds are your cord will not align. Why not put the base on a swivel so it can be put in the correct position? Also, it is not properly balanced, so it will tip over until you put the disposal on it. All of these issues are easily fixed, and until they are, a car scissor jack is more robust and probably easier to use.

Not refined or thought through for retail
I find the garbage-disposal jack a little clumzy. It came with no instructions. To lower, you are suppose to push back on a lever, but it doesn't necessarily go down on its own. The jack also assumes a level surface if you are trying to align the disposal to final position. It would have been better for the platform to have some play otherwise. Ultimately, you need to keep the jack a bit lower than final position and just lift it yourself. Finally, the platform needs a notch on all sides to account for the cord for the disposal to sit flat. The disposal otherwise is always on edge and tips over. I did find the jack very useful to take down the old garbage disposal. Out-to-lunch if I want to keep it. Should be more like $25 at a Habor Freight than $55 than mainstream retail.

Works well!
I perform handyman chores for family, friends and neighbors and I'm often called upon to fix kitchen faucets and underside plumbing including replacing/removing disposals. Disposal removal and installation can be tricky for a one-man operation like me so I acquired this jack. It's saved a lot of strain and effort and simplified disposal removal and installation. One downside: the release isn't buffered so the load drops quickly and can pinch an unwary user (yeah, I found out the hard way!).

Just would not work to lift a heavy garbage disposal into position in small increments
Just would not work to lift a heavy garbage disposal into position in small increments. Contacted the manufacturer (FasTCap) , told me to send it back, however , purchased it from a secondary supplier. Contacted the supplier, who refunded my purchase price and told me not to ship it back. I think that says a lot about this product (not the manufacturer or supplier). I ended up using a scissor style car jack, which worked perfectly.

Wish I had this a long time ago.
I liked it. On my first disposal with this tool I had to install and uninstall the disposal several times while I tried to hook up the drain line and this tool made it super easy.
