It depends on what battery pack it is the ipad holder depth is 2cm. max open size 23.5cm, max loaded is 2kg. the battery pack can not exceed these specifications

Q: Has anyone used this on 1-1/2 square tubing (drum, field frames ect)?

Not recommended for use on 1.5in square tubes, you can search B0BN1PKDGT on Amazon.it is the newest products. this clamp open size is up to 1.57in.it can support 1-1/2" square tubes

Q: How do I install ball head device to other piece? Snaps in only with the turning nob off, not when it's on. Thanks

Dear Customer First take off the nut on the tablet holder Second put the nut on the ball head of clamp Finally insert the ball head into the hole of tablet holder and then tight the nut. Thanks
