    A very good substitute for original controller.

This controller is a good replacement for any original Gamecube controller. The controller is exactly like the Wavebird, minus the rumble feature (which I always loved). I purchased for use with my Wii and I had no issue using it once I put in batteries. The receiver flashes red as long as its placed into the Wii, so if it bothers you to have it always flashing, removing it after each use is recommended. If you are looking for a Wavebird replacement, this is the next best thing.
