Sakura's unique PIGMA Ink is the first in the world to combine both water-based and pigment inks, making for vibrant colours that will not bleed through paper.

This is NOT a 0.5mm pen it is 0.45mm
Micron makes a great pen so I can't give this less than 5 stars, but beware that the description of this pen's size is incorrect.I needed 0.5mm (size 8) pens for some drawing lessons. The pen pictured is a size five, but the description called it a 0.5mm pen so I trusted the description not the photo. If you need 0.5mm get the 3 pack of pens that they describe as 0.8mm instead of these. Those pens are a size 8 not 0.8mm and therefore will be the 0.5mm you are looking for.I will get plenty of use out of these size 5 pens later so I'm not returning them, but they were not what I needed right now for my lessons so I wanted to warn someone against making the same mistake I did. Happy drawing!

Photographers beware
I bought this pen to sign and date the back of fine art photographs for sale. I can't tell you how many photos were ruined because this ink never dried. After an hour when I went to slip the photos into the acid free sleeves the ink smeared all over the back of one. Then, hours later I checked the others and just touched my signature and the ink smeared all over the place. I have NEVER seen this with any pen before ever. Over a couple thousand dollars of prints were useless and had to be reprinted. I'm so pissed off as I bought this pen for one reason...to sign fine art photos. Useless. For the curious, the paper I used was Canon Pro Luster and I was signing the back side of the paper.

I love these pens!
I first acquired one of these Sakura manufactured Pigma Micron pens a few years ago when I was working at the UCD Medical Center. The pen wound up abandoned and I adopted it because if the very fine line it writes, with excellent black-level (in the case of the pen I have) and the fact that the ink is considered "archival". I've no idea what the original owner's use of the pen was, but I used it extensively in note-taking, marking up drafts, accenting words, etc. After I retired it eventually wound up out in my home workshop, and has been used for marking dimensions on projects, creating schematics by-hand and various other things I doubt Sakura ever imagined. Well, I bought 3 more of these "Pigma Micron"s (I like the 05's, that's 0.45mm wide!), as I'm finally running low on ink in that original pen I adopted. (I admit, I'm frugal, but that's really paid off for my retirement, LOL!) Seriously, if you appreciate quality pens, these Sakura Pigma Microns are simply one of the best buys on the market. I prefer to use a number of high-end fountain pens to write with, but for general pen use you cannot beat these Micron pens.

Great for faux calligraphy, Zentangling & fineline marker art applications
Sakura Micron are the standard by which commodity fineline art markers are measured, for very good reason. Sakura's quality is very high and absolutely consistent ... my 10th Micron black marker is exactly like my first one. They pack a lot of ink & last a long while. The tips put up with a lot of abuse compared to similar markers though they can get mushed down, this isn't for little kids unless they're extremely careful with their tools.Importantly, a '05' marker doesn't mean it's .5mm; the 05 are actually .45mm so always check the given line size in millimeters with Sakura Micron as their series number, while it goes from small to large, is not meant to reflect the actual line size in millimeters.

Sakura Pigma Micron 05 - Pigment Fineliners work well with watercolor paint and sketching.
These Micron pigment fineliners are fun to use, and I like the finished product that I get both when putting details onto my watercolor paintings or just doing sketches.

Writes beautifully
I like the ink and it writes smoothly and consistently. Also, the lid fits well and will prevent the ink from drying up.This seller has a very nice selection of pens and I am using mine for writing a genealogy.I left off one star because it took over two weeks to arrive.

Use these all the time for drawing
My go to pen for detailed drawing. Have gone through dozens over the years. I do find some that occasionally link and need to be discarded before empty. Nothing seems to work as well for a consistent thin black line that doesn't run when I add watercolors.

Been using for years
Many micron pens run out of ink in a short period of time...these r worth the money...keep the lid on when not using and if u r mixing media, be careful not to compromise the nib with something like paint ..no skipping, flows smoothly and the width is consistent...been buying for years
