As the headline says. The Dyson V8 has been a great vaccum, but the OEM battery didn't last as long as I'd hope. I'm always a little leery about third-party replacement parts, especially electronics (for example, off-brand batteries for Nikon cameras). But this one has been fine and I can now hit all three floors of my house (which we share with a Golden Retriever) with a little charge to spare (and that's with 2-3 cannister empties). The included new filters are a nice bonus. Even though I try to clean those periodically, at a certain point they just start to smell.

We bought this battery replacement because our original Dyson battery was wearing out and a charge wouldn't last as long as it used to. In the beginning, this batter was fine. It fit properly and worked with the Dyson charge and it lasted longer than our original battery. However, within 4 months, this battery stopped working. It does not charge at all. It's completely dead. Now, we are back to using the original Dyson battery, which at least works. I'm very disappointed to say the least.

This extends the runtime of our vacuum compared to the stock battery. However, when running the vacuum at max speed, it runs hot since it runs the vacuum longer than the stock battery ever would, it overheats the vacuum and causes it to shut down. This is not the fault of the battery but the vacuum. just so you are aware of that, you’ll be good with this battery. Definitely worth the purchase when i can turn the speed down and do the whole house on a single charge.

A nice idea, nearly twice the amp hours for half the price and a set of filters.However, once installed, the charging interface connection in the battery tower was physically floating around, so I could not plug in the charger reliably. Once I was able to get it fully charged, the vacuum motor would cut in and out while running, new filters, clean hopper and clear tube & head, indicating an intermittent connection in the battery as well as the unsecured charging connector.Returning it was confusing. The product description says it is eligible for return within 30 days, a refund was contingent on the battery’s return, but the Amazon provided instruction with the return label states DO NOT return damaged or malfunctioning lithium-ion batteries. It took me a good bit of time to connect to an actual service person at Amazon, the chat told me my return window had expired even though I was well within the 30-day window. When I got a person, I am not sure this person understood my question, I was given a $25 credit towards my next purchase for my confusion, time and effort, and was told to dispose of the battery myself. I followed up with the question: To be clear, you will process my refund without me returning the battery? This question was answered with: So you want me to send you a return label and instructions? OK, this was not productive, I shipped back the battery. The return and refund were successfully processed. The shipping label included a Lithium-Ion battery haz mat warning label to attach to the package, but the instruction not to return lithium-ion batteries just added confusion, because if it were not damaged or malfunctioning, I would not have needed to return it for a refund.gary

Our a Dyson battery had died, so by the help of Dyson hot line. They led me to find this battery. It’s been a great battery for what I use this vacuum, for my only complaint is the battery does get hot but I would still buy it again because I love my vacuum.
