You will explode into flames and die. But you will be smiling.
I really loved the Volcano Dust 1, so when I saw there was an even devilishly hotter #3 available, of course I had to try it!I was not disappointed. When I first opened it, I cautiously held it a few feet from my nose and let the pungent aroma waft up. It was immediately obvious that this product needed biohazard warnings! I called my wife over and said, "Don't get this too close to your nose, hold it away like this, but can you SMELL that?!?" She walked over, warnings unheeded, said "Oh, is that the new pepper powder? Cool!" - and then dabbed her finger into the top and stuck it in her mouth. She then looked at the crazy horrified face I was making, and said "What?" ... paused ... and then the volcano hit. Eyes wide, tears streaming, she made gasping, squawking noises while making a mad dash for some yogurt in the fridge! Her first coherent words afterward were something like "OH... <gulp gulp> MY...<gulp pant gulp> GOD!!!!! That <expletive deleted> is WAY hotter than the last stuff!!!" - And, it most certainly is. Flavor is amazing tangy smoky deliciousness, and also THE BURNING FIRES OF HELL. Use VERY sparingly until you figure out your tolerance, or you will end up throwing food away and possibly chugging dairy products while crying and praying and hallucinating, quite possibly prompting friends or family members to dial 911. If you like a pungent smokey peppery flavor, can hang with the crazy heat, and desire amazingly clear sinuses - you are going to LOVE this stuff!!! :-)

The Best Way to Add Heat
I've been trying different hot-sauces for years; the trouble is that the flavor of the hot-sauce usually changes the flavor of the food, so you end up with a ton of hot-sauces that you only use on a few things each. This beautiful pepper mix let's you add a nice dollop of heat to almost anything with affecting the underlying flavor, meaning you can use it almost anywhere you desire. Absolutely the best way to add heat to your favorite foods.

Level 3 is perfect (but Level 4 might be a bit better for some)
Volcano Dust 3 is the perfect level of heat. Other note that Pure Ghost or Pure Habanero ishoast) hotter to them and maybe so (Pure Reaper is definitely, Ghost possibly but Habanero is not hotter than this by any measure). The difference between adding Reaper (which is an excellent choice for adding fire) is that the flavor and aroma of this is far better than pure Ghost or Reaper. This includes Bhut Jolokia (Ghost) so it packs a punch but it has habanero (chocolate I believe) as well which for chili heads is one of the most flavorful and awesome smelling peppers available. The problem with us chili heads is that once we have gotten used to the heat, Habanero by itself just doesn't do it, and Ghost (for me) has little flavor...the Reaper has fantastic heat but little aroma, but add these together - either here in the Volcano Dust 3 or Volcano Dust 4 (better heat a little less flavor) and you have the best of all worlds.I have only one complaint and that is these a 3/4 OZ containers. Even if visiting the VP Website that is all they make unless you get the weaker varieties. I know it would be expensive but really a 3 OZ shaker is needed because some of us use this rather liberally - I finally bought three shakers in my last order to make sure I didn't run out.

SO hot, very delicious
If you enjoy extreme heat and smoky flavor, this is your chili powder. I ruined my first dish with this, sprinkling it like it was an extra spicy cayenne pepper. I can coat my food in cayenne powder and enjoy it, but even a conservative dusting of this volcano dust was so much heat and pain that the meal became unendurable. Despite trying to quench the pain with high fat, cold foods (the most effective capsaicin relief), I had to stop eating.Since that first unpleasant experience, I've had more respect for it, and enjoy its extreme heat almost every day. I'm a heat junky in that I like to sweat and feel nearly overwhelmed by heat when I eat, and this is the most delicious and efficient method of adding powerful heat without excessive additives. Flavor is similar to smoked paprika and cayenne (x50). Blends seamlessly with most savory dishes. It is also very tasty with rich dark chocolate, such as the popular dessert "molten lava cake". Seems only natural to add Volcano Dust!Eating it 5 times a week for the last month and the container has enough contents to still look unused. The smoky flavor is very adaptable but I would like to find a comparable dust with a neutral flavor for dishes that would benefit from heat alone.Highly recommended.update 3/10/13I am now down to 1/3 a bottle and my taste buds are now acclimated to the heat. I haven't ruined any more dishes with it and can now sprinkle pretty liberally, but about 25% the amount vs cayenne pepper. Goes best on chili and pizza. Great stuff!

Great Burn. Great in Salsa! You WILL sweat.
You know you want that burn. You want that burn to make you sweat, numb your tongue, and freak you out just a little bit without wrecking your guts. THIS will give you that burn. I mixed about 1/4 teaspoon into a regular jar of salsa and OH MAN does it kick in and stay for about 20 minutes. It won't mess you up as much as eating a straight ghost pepper. If you've done that, you know you're out of it for a good day and a half.As for this "Volcano Dust 3", at first bite the sides of your tongue will pop, then the tip will go numb. Your throat will close up a little bit, then your cheeks will start to flush. About a minute later, the ridgeline where your skull and neck meet will begin to sweat. Your eyes might water up just a little if you pushed it on the "dusting" of your salsa. Then the ride begins.About 5 minutes later your kids will begin to question your sanity. Don't listen to them. They are unbelievers. Keep charging through the burn and when you come out the other side you will be ... a new man.No one has mentioned it yet, but the unasked bathroom question is: No. Nothing out of the ordinary. No burn. This may have to do with ingesting a chili-powder, not the raw heat and capsaicin those peppers would bring if you ate them individually.Highly recommend this stuff and they ship pretty fast.
