ASA Electronics ACM135B RV Trailer Air Conditioners Advent 13 500 BTU Air Conditioner Black

I replaced my original Dometic air conditioner and this one is quieter, colder and it also runs off a normal 15 amp circuit you don’t need 30 amp. Now I can run this just plugged into my household plug or a friends outlet and it won’t blow their circuit breaker. This is a great thing to be able to load your RV up in a cool air conditioned coach!

I bought this unit basically as an experiment. My mid 90's Fleetwood Motorhome had a problematic funky old thermostat on the wall which caused the front AC unit to skip and work sometimes. After some research, I decided to go with manually controlled units. So I bought this unit. Along with the mounting face and a seal.First time I've ever done anything like this. The hard part was getting the new AC on the roof of a motorhome. Once I pried off the old unit from inside the Motorhome (which had been installed since 1995), it was all easy from there.Set the new AC unit somewhat square, go into your RV, kinda center it, and get the 4 long 10mm bolts, I used a cheap electric drill and socket. Bingo its in and tight. Plug your unit into the control box. Wire the white-black and ground in. Turn on the power and bingo..we got cold air!I might swap this unit to the rear bedroom and order me a new one, (same company) the largest BTU they sell.Trust me, reader, I'm an old boomer and if I can do it, you can. For the money, it's a no-brainer.

Well what Liked was it was a direct replacement for the Second Time! Yes I replaced the original unit which was a Dometic(junk didnt last one year). The second unit a Advent was installed by a RV repair shop that charged me installation fees to Warranty the Unit that they wouldn't come fix under warranty. They wanted $150 just to show up. The advent unit kept burning the red run wire off the compressor! I repaired the unit (R) run wire until it quit cooling. It ran out of refrigerant. $150 repair. No telling how long the compressor would last. SO....I replaced it with this unit. I expect the NEW Advent to last about 3 or 4 years at the most. Also the difference between the Black and White unit is the Cover. The old white cover mounted right up. So if your replacing the unit and don't care about color buy the Black one it was Cheaper now I have a Extra Black Cover. I used the Old white one to reduce the Direct heat. I also painted the old white cover with Tropicool which dropped the cover heat in the Hot Texas Sun. ALSO the new unit Doesn't even come with the Thermostat wire! So I had to use the old one!

Motor didn't work, returned unit and requested refund. Sent unit back in perfect condition. The company didn't refund full amount due to "significant damage". If there was any damage it was not from me.

Although the dealer said “one ,15k AC unit more than meet the cooling needs in Florida!” Liar!We purchased the second AC unit and we just got it installed . Climbing on the roof of our coach was not something I looked forward too( I am79 years old, but enjoy doing things myself). Installation is straight forward ( thanks for the YouTube tutorial) , the most challenging part is removing old sealant and preparing area to unit. When we cranked unit for the first time, we were amazed at how Quiet it runs compared to the existing unit. Even in 98 degree weather and high humidity the unit started cooling quickly.. the quality of the unit itself is excellent. Time will tell how it holds up to Florida heat. I also purchased the heat strip, and it was another simple installation. I highly recommend this product,

Had it professionally installed with new dedicated wiring to a new breaker box. Started off blowing cold cold cold, really handled a big old 20' camper well. Unfortunately for me I didn't get a lot of time free to use it... This year the fan motor is blown and getting a part is impossible. It's dead to me and there's no time to to wait before our one camp outing. @ years is at least 28 years less than any air conditioner should go before this happens. They made them that way for decades and now nobody knows how? I don't think so.

The unit was poorly boxed and and was damaged on one side, but still usable, didn't have time to send it back and reorder, but it does work ok .

This is the second one I’ve bought from this company and they both work like a charm. Very good price. Don’t waste your money on Coleman or dometic.. they work both ways manually with the controller that you can buy for 100 bucks or plug-in. Play with egsisting dometic thermostat
