These corbels are beautiful! I was looking for a pair that were decorative... viewing from the front, as well as from the side due to where I was going to install them (in my master bath over the toilet). They are solid wood, fairly heavy, nicely distressed, and I LOVE how they look with the shelf I stained to go with them. Great craftsmanship. The only thing that concerned me was that the hole in which the nail/screw head is supposed to go is pretty small so we had to really shop at Home Depot to find a screw with a head small enough for the hole, yet long enough to support the weight of the corbel and shelf and whatever we put on the shelf. But we found it and I'm very, very happy with our project and the corbels!

I could not decide on which pair of corbels to buy as amazon has so many choices. Finally, after reading the reviews I took the plunge and bought these and so glad I did. There is also felt to protect a surface if using these as bookends, which I have used them as. They are very heavy, so no worries about your books falling. I love the look of them they are as pictured. Another great buy from amazon!

Two pair have been purchase, one as an accent for the fireplace mantle and another to support a shelf for network equipment. They are a great finishing touch. Easy
