I love Saul bass. He’s incredible. And that’s underrating him. And I’d have been ecstatic were at night for the fact that this particular copy was inscribed by someone I don’t know to someone I don’t know. They should have mentioned the inscription.

This is a children's book that has a cute story but is also in large part about the graphic design (by the famous Saul Bass). Which is why it's such a disappointment that the publisher did not do a better job with the printing. Cheap paper and bad ink - the colors just are not as saturated as what I'm sure Mr. Bass intended. Also, this book will last about 5 minutes in the grubby hands of a child because of the uncoated paper. Good idea, bad execution. Still, I like it for what it is.

I love Saul Bass and was excited to find a children's book that he illustrated. Very disappointed with the printing though. The colors are really drab for a children's book, making it a little boring for the little ones and kind of hard to read in low light (ie: during bedtime story reading.). I expected something a bit more visually exciting based on Saul Bass's usual work. But it's a really sweet story and worth the read...
