Review: Sharpens like a dream. - Sharpens kitchen knives so quickly and with ease!! I was so impressed that I came back to order more to give as gifts in the future to loved ones. Seriously love this ceramic sharpening tool. It is a decent length. Be careful and take your time to get the right angle. Takes very little time and I think my most used, dullest kitchen knife is sharper now than when I got it. After looking at expensive sharpeners and all the pros and cons, the intimidating instructions and not ordering any knife sharpener for 2 years because of all of that, I tried this....I am SOOOOO glad I found this one! Just a few swipes of the ceramic dowel on the edge of dull blade and oh boy is that knife sharp!! One of THE BEST purchases I've ever made! The price. The quality. The result. All excellent!!
Review: Best Knife Sharpener On desertcart Next To The Lansky Blade Medic - This stone is amazing. It does a fantastic job on all my knives (Benchmade, Cold Steel, Morakniv, Kershaw, Schrade, Buck, Old Timer, Ganzo, CRKT, Kitchen Knives and more...). I dont even use a wet stone anymore. If my blade edge is really beat up, I use a Lansky Blade Medic (the preset carbide guides allow you to re-shape the blade to a 30-degree angle after four to ten pulls through the carbide guides). Then, I use an Arkansas 8 1/2" Ceramic Rod to make the jagged blade edge that the carbide guides make after the blade edge is reshaped (the ceramic rod turns a jagged metal blade edge into an edge that's as smooth/sharp as glass). After thirty to sixty seconds with the Arkansas 8 1/2" Ceramic Rod, I use a razor strop for ten to twenty equal passes on the leather to clean up any additional burs on the blade edge. I'm finished after that. The Lansky Blade Medic runs $10 to $13 dollars. For a finer/thinner/sharper blade edge, try the Lansky Quad Sharp for $12-$15 dollars (it comes pre-labeled and pre-set to the following angles: 17-degrees, 20-degrees, 25-degrees, and 30-degrees). Both Lansky Knife Sharpeners: The Blade Medic and The Quad Sharp are small and pocket sized. Currently, I have three Blade Medics in my Bugout Bags/Camping Bags and one Quad Sharp Sharpener for use on knives at home. The 17-degree angle carbide guides make an extremely sharp filet knife in under fifteen seconds (plus an additional thirty seconds if you decide to strop the blade).
