Light-weight, packable, and durable for camping and backpacking. Love it!
I ordered this hammock last week for a camping trip in the Uinta mountains thinking there was going to be a ton of mosquitos, which there wasn't, BUT the net still protected me from all the other little bugs buzzing and crawling around.A few things I'd like to point out about this hammock:The sack that you stuff your hammock into (that's sowed to the hammock itself) is a little bigger than it needs to be which is good, meaning you can compress it smaller. The ropes that come with it for the bug net are a bit on the short side. I'd recommend getting 50-100ft of camping nylon rope from just Wal-Mart or something and then cut them at a length that you can play around with. The tree-straps that comes with it are a bit short IMHO as well. I bought a different hammock at the beginning of this year that came with 9-ft straps that I used instead of these ones. The bug net durability so far is excellent. I haven't seen any tears even after accidentally swigging myself into a pine tree and tying the bug net ropes too tight the first time. The fabric of the hammock seems a little thinner compared to my other hammock but it is just as durable. I rubbed against a pine tree with the hammock and scraped the bottom along the ground when I set it too low, but no tears or showing of abrasion. The bug net is also sowed on with 3-stitch which is durable and reliable.A little additional add-on I wasn't aware of was the inner pocket that was perfect for my phone and head-lamp.Like the description says you can flip the hammock over so the bug net is facing the ground and you can just chill in the open air. Some might ask, "Is the bug net detachable?", the answer is no, it's not. But when you flip the hammock over, the bug net hugs the bottom of the hammock and doesn't hang all over the place so you don't have to worry about it grabbing on things or tearing.CONCLUSION;I know I said the ropes and the straps were too short, but for the price you are paying for a well-made, durable, light-weight and packable hammock, those small downfalls are only downfalls in my eyes and are not enough to lose a star. You may find the tree-straps and ropes to be long enough for your hammocking taste, but as a backpacker, I deal with many different tree-situations and sometimes need longer straps to hammock. After two consecutive nights sleeping in this hammock comfortably (male 5'10", 175-lbs), it definitely deserves 5-stars.
