Richard Orr's Nature Cross-Sections

not quite as cool as some of the other "cross-section" books of this type, and I don't find it quite as fascinating as the ones about buildings or locomotives, but it's pretty popular with my 2nd and 3rd graders, so who am I to argue! It is very educational and shows a lot of different environments and their different layers. Kids from 1st grade to 4th or so should like it, and nature lovers will find it indespensable!

Ok but not as interesting as other books like this. I didn't see the point of cutting the tree horizontally when it seemed that most of the happenings was at the base. My kids didn't look at this book very much but they have enjoyed others like this. It may have been better to cut the tree vertically. The pictures do give kids a different way of looking at things.

A wonderful wonderful book. Very gently used. Thank you! My daughter is using the book in her kindergarten class on nature.

This is a great book for kids. My 4 year old loves looking at the different habitats

Not extremely in depth information but a visual guide to different habitats. Jungle, desert, beehive, polar regions, oak tree, ocean. I bought 2 one for my daughter and one for her school. Some pictures fold out. I enjoy looking at it with her and discussing what we see.

My kids are enjoying this book so much! The illustrations are very neat and each page (which folds out into a large picture) have so much to look at!
