Is there a difference between this product and now food's super enzymes?

We are happy to help! There is a bit of a difference between the Now Foods Optimal Digestive System and the Now Foods Super Enzymes. The formulas are a bit different as the Optimal has higher amounts of the enzymes and is a branded ingredient. It also been proven in a controlled laboratory study by the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research to have effectiveness throughout the entire pH range of the digestive system and are not degraded by acid in the stomach. The Super Enzymes will have ingredients such as Bromelain from Pineapple and Papain form Papaya with Ox Bile.

how is this different from Nows regular plant enzymes that i have been using?

The plant enzymes ARE plant enzymes, while this digestive is probiotic bacteria. they perform completely different functions. enzymes help break down certain matter in the upper GI tract and probiotics digest matter in the lower GI tract. You basically need both.

How large are these capsules? I can give my cat a relatively large capsule but I'd like to know how the size of these capsules compares to a fish oil

Never heard of anyone giving these to cats before but the capsules are smaller than fish oil capsules

Why doesn't contain phytase?

I do not know why it does not contain phytase. Phytase is: is a natural chemical found in animals, plants, and microbes like bacteria
