This is a really good socket set and a great addition to the Festool range

Like all Festool products good quality well made all in a nice systainer what’s not to like

While the tools themselves are good, the systainer had a defect in the back which made it difficult to open. It also looks like someone applied some yellow paint to the systainer. I have at least 15 Festool products and have never had a systainer with so many issues.

I have been happy with the performance of the smaller Festool 1/4IN-CE RA-Set 37 set that I have had for the last 6 years (which still functions like new). I managed to get this Ratchet Set SYS3 M 112 RA at the super low price of £126 from amazon too so it was a no brainer.The T loc case is as expected, the same as the normal sys3 Systainer just a different colour which didn't really bother me either way.I had checked the pricing of the same ratchets made by Felo, the Felo 29–Piece Smart II which has been down to £43. That set has the small ratchet some sockets, bits, bit holder, with the same tiny 1/4" driver handle plus other bits and my reckoning was that the larger 1/2" ratchet would be around £75 in kit form from Felo when it finally arrives in the uk so it seemed a fair price with the convenience of the sys3 storage system.The issue is the Festool 1/4IN-CE RA-Set 37 set that I have feels superior in quality in every way, the ratchet feels better and smoother in the hand and the driver handle with centrotec system is way more practical than the one that is included in this set.I know these kit are meant for different purposes but what is a shame is the maximum socket size included for the 1/2" ratchet. I sometimes use 27mm even 32mm at times so not having slots for these in the case means carrying the sockets separately or butchering the foam in the systainer to fit extras in.The 1/2" ratchet feels poor in the hand and the finish isn't good enough, the plastic rim at the top of the handle will get churned up over time, it would have helped with a roundover at least or metal protective rim. I have a Facom 1/2" ratchet which I was planning to sell along with the mini Festool kit to fund this larger set but the Facom ratchet feels premium in every way compared to the Festool ratchet.Unfortunately I had to return this Festool set as I couldn't allow my heart to rule on this occasion. Sticking with the smaller Festool set and the Facom ratchet system as the 2 are incomparable in quality and usability.
