Secret Service: A M|M Romance

OK. A story about the President and his Secret Service agent falling in love? For real? And on top of that, an action thriller? But I couldn't resist. I know DC and I know the White House -- it's history, layout, grounds. It all feels like it could happen. I loved the way that the two men slowly and carefully fell into their magical world together. Good plotting and descriptions. Very romantic and well-written erotic scenes.Spoiler Alert: They get together. But by my reckoning, the President would have at least six more years in office. What happened? Do they just sneak around? Live a poorly kept secret? I would have enjoyed an epilogue describing what happens when the media got this and the first openly gay President was re-elected. And what the role of his partner would be. Another improbably gay romance, "Red, White, and Royal Blue," is set between the White House and Buckingham Palace. It has a great epilogue explaining how the couple creates a life together in the public eye.

I have read books from Mr. Bauer before, but I don’t recall if any other book has gotten me as hooked as this one. This book is amazing, it has so much going on that I couldn’t help myself and I kept reading no stop, just wanting to know what was gonna happen next!It truly is an amazing story; I love reading because, like many others; the words become a movie playing in my head; and what a movie this one was!! The right amount of action, paired with the right amount of heat! I really thought this could be an amazing thriller on the big screen!The cover is kind of meh, they could of done better with that; but once you start reading the first sentence; you are hooked and are not be able to put it down, until you have consume it all.The author really goes into detail about many things that I’m honestly not to familiar with, but it’s amazing how much research must of have to been done to really have all those facts.The Story is brought to us from both MC’s point of view, both from the past and the present and it is wonderful to see how these characters developed and learned to deal with their love for each other.There is one thing that I wasn’t too crazy about; and that is the emotions that Reese feels for Sheridan; it’s just off putting for my liking, but other than that, this is one of the best reads I’ve had in a while.

The books that Tal Bauer writes are intense and amazing. I frequently have to read some other, light and foufou books before I tackle another. His government stories always always make you feel as though he’s writing from his personal experiences.This book about a closeted gay president and his secret service detail brings in some allusions to recent world events and the domestic terrorism that has us all wondering about those we think we know. And given that we currently have an openly gay and married government official, it also gives me hope.Get ready to dig in and enjoy.

This book …… so many emotions. And you feel them All. Such a great story. Fell in love with both the main characters. You feel their pull. It’s so well written.

Proof that you can’t judge a book by its cover, this remarkable novel is so well written with detail and suspense that it seemed to me that it should be a New York Times best seller. It would certainly make a great Matt Damon action movie with characters who you come to love and respect quickly. The research that the author must have done is incredible. From the layout of the White House to the details of Secret Service operations we learn it all. He describes everything. Three on three basketball. Camp David. Air Force One. Gun types and assembly. The United Nations. And the details of New York and Washington real estate, restaurants, and safe houses. Amazing, really. There are descriptive sex scenes but they’re character driven and tasteful. But such a serious piece of literature has a cover that makes the book appear trite. Common. I don’t get it because the half naked guy on the cover doesn’t look like any of the characters within. So be it. It’s a suspenseful action packed story about what happens when the President goes missing and all that’s left is a burnt out black SUV. You will care.

Just like I love Gravity I do love this book... I would have loved a bit of a heads up about the sort of multiple-love-interests aspect of this book (4,5/5)... Otherwise, I (5/5) would recommend it because I as a reader did get a nicely wrapped-up ending.SPOILER!But my heart breaks at the thought of the beating Sheridans heart takes in all this, his heart really gets put through the wringer in this.

Tal bauer never disappoints is a fast paced novel with slow burn romance.Twist and turns and a surprise finale.

Secret Service 読了しました。こう言うのページターナーというんですかね。正味３日であっという間によみおわった。さてネタバレなしで感想を少し。いやああ、ほんとよかった。(また語彙不足)Executiveシリーズの良いところだけをぎゅっと絞った濃縮ジュース。まず、長さがちょうどいい。ああ、もっと読みたいと言うところで、さっと余韻を残して完というのがいい。もしかして、Executiveシリーズの時より作者様構成やらエディティング上手になって同人誌ぽい作風から商業小説っぽい感じに進歩した？こう全体にしまっているし長ーい状況説明や無駄な登場人物もまったくいなくてすっきりまとまってすごく読みやすかったです。とにかく、私、こう言う禁じられた秘密の恋大好物だわ。(例ロイヤルシークレットシリーズ、エイドリアンシリーズ)このホワイトハウスの設定ってやはり、隠さなきゃいけない恋っていうのがすごく美味しいです。考えてみると現代アメリカの特に大人の男である程度の都市が舞台だったら、MMは全然悲恋でも隠さなきゃいけない恋でもないですからね。それを自然にこの状況に持っていくのがやはり大統領とシークレットサービスエージェントの禁じられた恋。ああああ萌えます。ロマンスの醍醐味ってうまくいかないことだと思うんです。この小説はうまくいかない、隠さなきゃいけない、なにしろ下手したらリースは首が飛び、ブレナンの政治生命が大スキャンダルで終わる危機！そしてMC2人とも対照的なバックグラウンドと雰囲気。ほんと100点満点のMMロマンスでした。皆さんに絶対おすすめします。英語も簡単。たぶん現代のアメリカ、しかも自称ポリティカルジャンキで、しかもよく知っている場所なので読んでいてまあ、あそこねとか嬉しくなりました。そしてアメリカの外交関係問題も大筋で間違っていなくってちゃんと作者様の政治意識に私は共感できるのも良かった。とにかくおすすめの一冊！

I was so hooked by this story, even my Garmin watch told my reduce my stresslevel at some point 😆. I'd love to see this as a TV show someday.

There’s no point in me delving into storyline as it will ruin the experience. Great book as per freakin’ usual! I don’t even like when prose time jumps to avoid info dumping/bogging the action down, and I still rate this book. Am so hoping Sheridan (a most darling character who steals the show) finds his forever just-for-him love and gets his own book *pretty please*. I did figure out who the culprits were pretty swiftly but the book didn’t lose any appeal, the storytelling is just that damn good. This author knocks it out of the park. Even the “less than his best” books are leagues ahead of others in the m/m romance genre. Ugh. All the feels. Will be waiting on tenterhooks for the next book.Personal note to the author: a sci fi or epic fantasy romance....pllleeeaaassseeee!

A slow burn of a president and his head of security. Brennan was lonely when voted in as president and had the white house to himself. He allowed a secret he had buried many year ago come to the surface when he meets Resese for the first time.Reese had never been attracted to men before he met the President and finds it so hard to stop thinking about him until the day they both give into their desires. Being a president and keeping a lover under wraps isn’t the easiest especially when there are other. Things happening around you.Like all of Tal’s books, this had me guessing right up to the end. The attraction between these two me sizzled and burned up the pages. Great story finished it in two reads, I just couldn’t put it down.
