Kingdom of Villains

Decent standalone
I was pleasantly surprised with this book. For being a standalone novel it had everything, drama, action, humor, and spicy as heck. It only took me a couple of days to read so it's a good read for in between books on series.

Kingdom of Villains
Genre: Fantasy, Shifter RomanceSeries Type: StandaloneBook Length: NovelPOV: Alternating DualSetting: A Fae RealmMale MC: Colvin Eldorn is an Unseelie Prince in the Kingdom of Eldorn and is also a very rare dragon shifter. He struggles with his beastly nature and is searching for a way to break his unwanted curse. Colvin is 23 and has black hair and gold eyes.Female MC: Fia Callula is a Seelie Princess in the Kingdom of Callula. She is a wild spirit and loves rescuing creatures and stirring up a bit of trouble. Fia is 19 and has long white blonde hair and violet eyes.Endearment: Fire-breatherSpice Level: MediumFrequency of Spice: MediumAngst Level: LowCliffhanger: NoEpilogue: YesMy Review: This was a very sweet fantasy romance. I loved the storyline and world building; it was imaginative and descriptive enough to feel realistic but not confusing (which sometimes is the case with fantasy romances). Colvin and Fia were wonderful together and I enjoyed their journey very much. It was a little enemies to lovers' vibes at first, but it wasn’t over the top and it didn’t drag on forever, which I appreciated. Colvin and Fia were very sweet and tender together and I loved their spicy scenes, which were pretty frequent once they got together. This is a great palate cleanser if you need something lighter and not heavy and dark. A really great book!

Uneven
First I did love the premise and world building and the first chapters were really killer. But I didn’t love the book, because of all the plot holes and threads the author left dangling. There is a very long epilogue that tries to fix all the plot holes, but it felt like a bandaid, a whoops I forgot to address these in the book type of epilogue. What truly pissed me off is the book starts with the heroine Fia finding a litter of monsters. But by the time she is able to rescue them only three are left left alive, the rest having been killed. Fia is like a “monster whisperer.” When she discovers the litter was just bait, she isn’t furious. She just peeved and accepts it all, because of the magic sex she has with her Prince. Yes the monsters aren’t the main thrust of the conversation, but for a girl to have spent her life rescuing creatures it seemed to easy for her to dismiss, especially for the third little guy who didn’t survive. I know everyone else is loving on this book, and maybe because it’s on kindle unlimited readers don’t expect much when it comes to editing or continuity; but I do. As Colvin chapters seem to have ADHD and don’t take into account what just happened in prior chapters. This doesn’t even go into plot points that just pop up in a conversation without context or minor editing mistakes. This was a major problem and really impacted my enjoyment of the book.

Beautiful
This is my first book from Ella Fields and I’m officially enamored. This was such a beautiful story, with MCs that you can’t help but fall in love with. Absolutely worth the read.

Fantastic fantasy read!
Two of my favorite things, Ella Fields’ writing and Fantasy Romance, they make an absolutely beautiful combination.Kingdom of Villains is an adult fantasy romance, and it is also a standalone. Not everything is quite what it seems in this one, as it never is when the Fae are involved in the story.I absolutely loved this book. The authors writing is always so beautiful and almost lyrical in a way and it really comes to life in the Fantasy genre.Kindom of Villains is full of beautiful storytelling, some enemies to lovers romance, mystery, steam, action, a strong female lead, a swoon worth Hero, just everything you hope for in a PNR read. I loved all of the characters and the twist that the author put in the story. Though this book does include Fae, it’s done in a way that makes this book and story unique.I had so much fun reading this, I flew through the pages. If you are looking for a great new PNR look no further.

Amazing!!!
This was so much more than I was expecting!! Just Wow! What a truly Magical Read! I stumbled across this book looking for a “arranged marriage fantasy” read, But this is so much more than that! The World of this book is interesting and so easy to get swept away in. It gave me immortal instrument vibes with the two kingdoms of Seelie and Unseelie. I love fae books and this story of the fae is very intriguing. I was hooked start to finish. I loved Fia, she was such a wonderful character who really grew and had to figure things out on her own. I loved her heart and how she always stayed true to herself. Our Unseelie prince smelled like trouble from the start and I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised with him. I won’t spoil it but man, Fields really gave us Book Boyfriend to fall hard for. You absolutely cannot love Colvin. He has experienced so much hardship, it’s heartbreaking. He truly cares deeply for our girl. Their Bond was top tier stuff! Definitely my favorite couple of the year so far! Now let’s talk about the Heat!!! Boy was it Scorching!!!! This book was five Flames of hotness! Fields gave us all the Smexyness!!! I did shed a few tears for our main characters because whew, I really got into this book! I loved it! The ending had my heart racing and soaring!! I highly recommend it! You wont be disappointed! It’s surprisingly not a series, I was a bit sad to find out. Because I could really stay lost in this world.

Really interesting read!
This was a great book. Such an interesting story and characters. I absolutely loved it. The plot kind of revolved around the romance kind of not, but was done in such a great way that it absolutely made sense and made for a really wonderful read. I'm a sucker for HEAs and this hit the spot for a short read in between large series.

4.5 Stars
I loved the story line and writing style, with dual POV of this author. The world construction was super well done, just with enough details without being overly described.I’m not giving the full 5 start for only one reason, which was the excessive sex scenes. Don’t get me wrong, I like spicy and hot books just like the next girl, but the main characters would get to it every other page. The scenes were well done but just too many of them to get the story flowing.Overall, I totally recommend this book.
