After going through two different copies of the same device, my XQD card still was not being recognized by my Mac or PC. The SD card reader works fine, but there are countless options that are cheaper, better, and provide more functionality than this. The XQD reader does not work at all, no matter what kind of computer, which usb port I use, or which way I have the plug in oriented. I honestly feel guilty having bought it in the first place as it’s such a waste of resources just to create a worthless paperweight.
