Well made and looks like the real thing...NOT cartoon-y. SUPER cute and cuddly!!

My six year old has listened to "I want a hippopotamus for christmas" about 2000 times over the last 3 years. She loves the song and so does my 1 year old. So for Christmas this year, this little guy was in the middle of the room w/ a big red bow. They got a kick out of it and the one year old hugged it right away and many times since. There are more cartoonish ones out there, but we had those- and that's not what the songs about. The song is about a real live hippo, and this resembles that while managing to be somewhat cute. It's actually pretty firm to the touch and seems to be well made.

I love this little guy. It is very well made. Ears, tail, folds of skin on his back and under his chin, even embroidery on the bottom of his precious little feet. I hug him as I sleep to support my head, instead of a small pillow. He makes me smile.

Wonderful soft toy for a 1-2 yr old. She cherishes this hippo and loves watching hippo videos on the iPad. It has been through the washing machine a few times, and the main back seam opened up, but a needle and thread quickly repaired that opening and it has been sturdy since. It has a cute, lovable countanence, perfect for a toddler who likes hippos.
