I saw coco coir or bark chunks on it but it’s really smooth. I wish there weee more bits bc it’s more aesthetically pleasing. It’s good for what I need though.

I use this mat underneath the litter that I use for my tortoise. I bought this because it's not only safe but it creates a boundary so that when my turtles start digging in their litter, they don't scrape the bottom of their tank. Not to mention, it helps keep the tank a little warmer. I have my turtle tank near a window so they get sun but since it's cold, this helps keep their tank a little bit warmer with the light warmer that we have too. What I love is that I'm able to reuse this mat even after cleaning their litter. Once I dump out the litter, the mat is still in great shape. This did arrive with 2 mats but I'm still on the first one. Once it's time to replace the first one, I will definitely be reordering these because these are safe and help comfort our turtles. Not to mention, I no longer hear scraping on the bottom of the tank when they're digging.

We were using wood chips for our leopard gecko. This is SO much better. Sometimes when she was trying to catch a cricket she would end up eating the wood chips..so frustrating. Also, there were times when the crickets were very difficult to see..not anymore. It is soft and looks nice. Our leopard gecko has a big smile on her face now...ok, she always does, but I can tell she is happier and so are we.

Really love that this a natural material for my Gecko in his terrarium. It is a little difficult to cut. Make sure to use the old as a template when cutting. The natural material is great! I would purchase again.

Was easy to cut to size, easy to clean just wish it were a little thicker.

The material is very rough, sharp, and not very flexible. It is a stretch calling this "carpet". Just from putting it down in the tank I had several marks on my hands. Both of the carpets I received also had large chunks of coconut husk in them.My leo refuses to go on this carpet and has been sitting on his rock ever since I put it in his tank. I would only consider using this as a base liner with a less abrasive material placed on top. I replaced this carpet with paper towels for now so he would at least be comfortable going to his food/water bowls.
