Does this razor need shaving gel, or is it similar to the Gillette Venus with pads attached to each blade please ?

It has a lubricating strip like the Venus, but I use it in tge shower, so there is always a little extra lube in the way of shower gel or oil. In my opinion it gives a closer finish, but I note some other reviewers think differently. That is the nature of opinion I suppose.

Is this good for the occasional annoying coarse strong hairs.on the chin and does it leave the skin smooth? Thanks

I am older so have a lot of hairs on my chin and neck and these are fabulous - baby soft skin! Just be careful not to do one big long sweep as you'll cut yourself. Short sweeps are best as these have 5 blades. They last well too. Just don't leave in the sun as the conditioner will melt. I'll be ordering them again and I'm a fussy shopper!

How long does cartridge last.

I would say each set of blades will last about four half leg shaves (four uses)! Probably depends on the hair density and coarseness! Hope this helps.
