Open Country 4 Quart Aluminum Covered Kettle

This pot does everything it's intended to do. It's light, well made and easy to clean. I saw a few reviews complaining about how easily it dents, etc. This is an inexpensive aluminum pot, designed to be used where you want something light weight. If you want something that won't dent, there's plenty of stainless steel or cast iron pots out there that will not dent easily. Of course, they cost a lot more and weight a LOT more. This pot does everything it's intended to do.

as other reviews stated, the lid doesn't stay of at all. there is zero holding device, it simply sits on the pot. other then that it is a great pot! its a great size and a good thickness. I highly recommend if its lid falling off isn't of concern to you.

Pan is very thin and light. It may get some dents and dings after a few trips, but that just adds character. Boils water very quickly, and has been a huge convenience for my backpacking trips. Can boil plenty of water for three people to make dinner simultaneously and still have some to spare.An unexpected bonus for me, it's the exact diameter of my sleeping bag's stuff sack, so I can slide it over one end of my bag and it doesn't take up any extra room in my pack.

Well it had a good price on it, and it was a good size for camping. But then there's the "catch-22" in it.It is VERY thin aluminum. I dimpled it, just unpacking it.Which, for some, is AWESOME because some folks like their stuff to heat super fast which, if you think about it, is the whole POINT of thin aluminum: RAPID heat transferrance.But really, folks, I could crush this thing like a beer can.Dr Johnson

I purchased this product to use while camping from atvs in the backcountry. As other open country products I have purchased, this one is well thought out, simple and just about perfect for my needs. I also purchased a GSI 4 place camp set that includes triangular shaped bowls, cups and lids with 4 plates that nest perfectly in this cook pot... Like it was made to do so. I highly recommend all open country camp cooking products.

Aluminum material is quite thin for open flame cooking. I feel that it will not last long for my uses...

I needed a covered pail to milk our goat into. I wanted one that would be a gallon size but be short and squat instead of tall like all of the stainless steel pails that I found, plus have a lid. This is a perfect size! The only thing I would like to change, for our situation, is that the lid would fit on more securely or that the handle, when up, would hold the lid on (we may try to alter it ourselves so that it does that). Otherwise this works great for milking our goat.

I bought this as a gift, was not as big as I expected but other that that it was fine.
