Typically the wiring inside a light fixture is much smaller than the wiring rated for 10 Amps in this adapter. The reason I purchased this adapter was only to plug in LED lights, which draw much less than the 100 watt rating of the light fixture. To exceed the rated wattage of the light fixture would be very dangerous. **Q: Is this actually grounded? I know it has the third prong, but does that ground?** A: A DANGEROUS PRODUCTβ€”DO NOT USE IT! Light Socket to Plug Adapter Return it, do not use it. Shame on Amazon for allowing this to be sold! I did call and explain to them the dangerous situation. Problem 1: The ground connection on the female plug side of the adaptor is open and Not connected to any ground. This results in an open ground receptacle. You think you have a good, grounded receptacle, but you DO NOT. Again, it is an OPEN GROUND and dangerous to use when the ground is required. The item is not safety tested by UL, and not UL Listed. Problem2: The hot and neutral may be reversed! The 3 similar I purchased and tested are reversed! IMPORTANT: The lamp socket you screw this item into has NO ground connection, and the item itself has NO ground connection on the male screw end. Again, immediately return this item and do not use it! Especially if the item you are plugging into this adaptor requires a ground connection.
