Worked perfectly and simple to install
My PS3 would no longer recognize that it had a disc inserted (though it had no problems taking the disk in or ejecting it back out, it just wouldn't spin once inside). Bought this, followed a youtube video on how to disassemble and replace the laser deck in my PS3. Took me about 25 minutes total first time trying it from start to finish. Reassembled and my PS3 works perfectly again.I was on the verge of throwing my PS3 away and replacing it with another before I found out how easily this issue could be fixed. Very glad I found this product and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again (though, I'll be switching to a PS4 soon enough).

... my old lens and case and the lens slid easy down the bars
I popped out my old lens and case and the lens slid easy down the bars, this one got stuck and didn't slide down the bars easily. I installed it anyway, and not shockingly it didn't move and didn't work. I popped it back open, gently lubed the bars. It felt like there was glue or some residue on the handles of the lens. I tried to get it the best I could but it still didn't slide easy like my original lens. I tried again, it worked a little better, no weird noises, but still no go. Next I'll attempt to remove the lens and put it on my old original bars to see if that works. I shouldn't have to do that, the entire piece should have worked and there shouldn't be so much resistance for the lens to move easily. It was very obvious there was an issue as soon as I touched the thing so I don't know how the company didn't notice that when they sent it to me.

Not exactly
With so many different models, and types its hard to determine the right one, when i was going to place it in to the PS3 it turned out this was a uses one!

Worked perfectly
The Deck works great. I spent the better part of 2 days taking apart the ps3, cleaning and reassembling it to discover that I actually needed a new Laser. The installation itself was really simple. I learned a lot about the PS3 BluRay drive after watching many many YouTube videos. Many. The product is great, working very well after a week of hard use since I repaired it. The packaging I felt was a little sketchy since it came in a padded mailer that was shoved into my mailbox. Shouldn't it have been more well protected, delicate electronics? Also there were some scratches on the drive. Was probably refurbished, not new. Anyway, it works.

Just what I needed
PS3 didn't work (disk wouldn't spin), so i ordered this replacement part. Make sure to verify proper serial number from the original as there are several versions of this piece. I installed it and it took me a little more than an hour for total tear down and rebuild watching a YouTube video. Works great now, I am very happy.

Worked Flawlessly
Installed without a hitch...nothing more to say other than it solved the issue. As long as you have the right part # and are exact in the installation process there will be no problems.UPDATE: 7 years later and my PS3 still works flawlessly.

bad part
After installing part in my PS3, the disc spun erratically and made a lot of noise. Opened back up and after tinkering, I saw that the motor was installed slightly slanted on the PCB it was mounted to, causing the discs to spin off balance. I will have to try to return it.

The Lens and deck work just fine
While it is a bit of a task to install this replacement laser lens and deck, it has corrected the problem I was having with various disks not playing, or shutting down and the like. Moreover, there are quite a number of YouTube videos that can guide you through the process just as they did me. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that the new lens and deck seem to run a little on the loud side--at least at first. It may have gotten a little better, but it is hard to tell. I only know that after installing it I noticed the loudness of the disk tray, where I don't remember noticing that before.
