Q: Do these have decorative bands on them that take away from the actual usable towel surface?

There is no decorative band at all. There IS a 1/4" band on all 4 sides, just to finish off the weaving, I guess. But the rest of the washcloth is all terry. I bought these for exactly the reason you are asking about. I wanted all terry...no decorative ribbon. These are high quality and wash/dry well.

Q: Do these come in colors other than white?

We intend to introduce 8 color variations soon. You will love them all!

After washing and drying several times the size is now 15.5x13.5. The nap has remained constant. Hope this helps.
