It works great!
That said, the knobs on the lock screws should be metal rather then plastic. It works for almost everything I'll use it on and what it won't cut I'll use my 12" miter saw to cut it. It cuts up to a 2x12 and for a 7 1/4" saw you can't ask more then that. It's lighter then my 12" saw so it's easier to move it around. I recommend it.

Good tool, great tool for the money
Good tool that gets the job done just fine. It's not the quality of my 10" Makita but for the money it works! I do agree with one of the reviews regarding the blade depth adjustment coming loose. I want it to stay all the way down so super glue might work. I now have 4 WEN products (power tools) and use them almost daily for small projects in the garage. If you don't want to break the bank, they're a good option to the more expensive brands.

Love it so far
Saw was delivered very well packaged, all pieces accounted for and no apparent damaged to the saw during transport. Directions for set up, etc were easy to follow and I had to make small adjustments to insure the blade was square with the base. Basically, the saw was set to go out of the box.I've used the saw to some work I am doing to repair a bathroom vanity. Nice smooth action on the slide and accurate miter cuts so far. I have only one complaint about the depth adjustment screw loosening. I read that others have also experienced the same issue. I've removed the screw for now but will be reinstalling it with a new nut and a split lock washer to prevent it from loosening. Other than that, I'm quite happy with the saw overall. This purchase was made to replace a 10 inch Wen miter saw that just crashed and burned in the middle of renovations to my bathroom. Upon inspection, the gears in the gear box had come apart which was only possible if during assembly the retaining c-ring was not fully seated. I was hesitant to purchase another Wen saw but decided to go ahead because I have a number of Wen tools and this was the first one I've had any problems with. The saw was still under warranty but I would have had to package it up in either the original box or the equivalent and pay for the shipping. Then when they receive the saw Wen would determine if it was a covered repair. In the end, the shipping costs made alone made my decision about that saw. It went into the trash and those shipping costs went towards the new saw. Going with a 7 1/4 inch saw was all about the price and available space. This purchase I also purchased Amazon's extended warranty. I never purchase those warranties but it covers everything including the costs of shipping for repairs. I highly recommend that you purchase the warranty, just in case.Overall, happy with purchase and will update if there's any further problems.

Works great
Bought this to replace my 12 inch miter saw when doing trim work. Light weight so it's easily pa ked and moved. Directions say to use a speed square to check and adjust angles prior to use but mine came out of the box in perfect alignment. The blade seems to be pretty good quality as it has not dulled yet. Dust catch is a bit of a poor placement so try to use outdoors.

Does the job
I use it for around the hose small projects. If I was a contractor no build as tuff for construction site. But good light duty saw.

Small but good
Purchased for a friend as she has never used one and this is compact enough that she can lift it. She just wants it for hobby crafts. So needed it to cut dead straight cuts and accurate 45's. Smooth to operate.Good quality for the money.Just note its not a 10" or 12" so you are limited to what you cut with it. Purchased the stand for it. Work great!

Set tolerances are off by 1-2degrees.
The set angles are off. Example the 90' setting to cut a right angle were off by 1-2degrees making it not possible to cut a std right angle cut. I have to use my square and manually set the angle. Very dissatisfied

Price performer tool gets DIY jobs done
Delivered super quick in proper shipping box that protected the tool. I mounted it to the WEN MSA658T miter saw stand. This saw got my first DIY project completed, but with some annoying aspects that only a DIYer on a budget deals with. The most annoying is that the blade depth stop knob loosened up after several cuts. When that happens, you've got to reset the depth and/or retighten. In making 20 cuts, I stopped and reset or retightened this knob twice. Also, the hold down clamp gets the job done, but is quirky. I connected the dust bag port to a powerful shop vac, but the suck wasn't sufficient and I still had debris all over. But, at the price, I was still happy when done. I like the ergonomics of the tool. And the LED cut-line light casts a blade shadow that I could work with just fine. Blade change was fine.
