I just received that to double check another salinity device.Out of the box was reading 1.023, Which I know is a little low for my system.I placed a drop of RODI water and it was reading below 1, that's when you know you have to calibrate.It take one second with the supplied small screwdriver.After calibration 1.025 which makes sense.The optics are not the greatest quality but it gets the job done.A good buy at this price.

So glad I bought this! This helped me control and maintain the salinity in my tank before I lost all my livestock. The case is very sturdy as well as the instrument itself. Very easy to calibrate as well. Dropper and cleaning cloth are of really good quality and haven't shown any signs of salt residue. Would buy again! Not only is the screwdriver unusable, I also did not receive a cleaning cloth... And looking at The quality of the screwdriver and missing an item, please me feeling that this thing might not be too accurate.

Very nice piece of equipment, simple to use. I am using this to check my marine aquarium specific gravity. Along with 35 ppt calibration solution, this makes for a very helpful piece of equipment at a very reasonable price. It came accurately calibrated to 35ppt.

I've very happy I bought this! I use this to check the salinity of my reef tank. My last felt cheap and started to rust. The quality of this one appears to be a lot better! Came in a nice hard case and with all the equipment I needed to calibrate and get testing. The indicator is very easy to read. My last one I had, I had to have just the right color and intensity of light to get a clear reading. This one works way better! Great product!

Works like it is supposed to. When I first received it I calibrated it (was spot on out of the box) made up a calibration mix to double check my tank salinity and it works great.

Loved the product, it was affordable, exactly what was shown and we love that it’s in a case which keeps it clean and free of harm. It’s easy to use and now our fish and coral are much happier with the correct salt levels
