You need the Rainbird faucet connection with back flow preventer and 25 PSI regulator. “Pressure Compensating” feature is referring to the drip emitters inside the tube giving you even amount of drip throughout the length of the run. Meaning the end of the line has the same pressure as the beginning. I have the Garden Kit with this drip tube (and everything else you need to get started). This drip tube is meant to extend your system. Get the Garden Kit if you are starting a new system because it has everything you need to get started including great instructions. **Q: What else do I need to order to connect it to a hose bibb and cap the other end?** A: Shamrock, you will need a Rain Bird FCKIT1PK - Faucet Connection Kit to connect the 1/2" tubing to the faucet. The other end is closed with a Rain Bird- EC50-1/2" -Closure Pack. I also included a battery operated Melnor 3100 2-Zone Aquatimer Sprinkler Control that connected to the Faucet Connection in order to water automatically using a 2 hose set up. The unit works well for me and I have been well pleased with it. **Q: Does this work only above ground or can I bury it for watering my homes foundation?** A: As long as you're using only the emitter hose, it should work underground. I don't know how many years it will last. The hose is prone to kinking at the emitter sites and should be buried carefully where there are sharp turns, as at the corners of a foundation.
