Babb is just great! Humble and humorous! I like Geirach but I like Babb a lot more!

Jim Babb is a rare treasure. Unlike many a solemn celebrant of the angler's passion, he never allows himself to take himself too seriously. Indeed, one of the delightful characteristics of FISH WON'T LET ME SLEEP is the self-mockery that finds its way into almost every story it tells. The miracle is that, while he is, precisely, mocking himself, while he is being funny, irreverent, and anything but pretentious, Babb's book manages to stir the emotions as only truly eloquent literature can.

The author's books are always interesting and entertaining but this book lends itself to a more serious and informative side on pretty much everything he's encountered fishing small trout streams. another upside is not only will you feel like you're gaining useful information but you'll want to get on the water and start applying the info and techniques!!!

Good book, well written and humerous. However, like most fishing books got a little long.

Fabulous writer and I love all his stuff - Gray's, and his previous two books. Again not about how-to but about why, with many reflections on life and aging, family and friends that are deeply connecting.

I bought this book for my husbands Christmas, he really liked it. He is an avid fly fisherman and this book has humorous, poignant stories on the subject.

Reading Babb's stories was like being there. A gifted storyteller who's self effacing narrative and keen eye for detail makes each story sparkle.

Jim Babb's storytelling ranks with that of Gierach and McGuane. Straightforward, perceptive, and always amusing, his essays say more about life than about fishing.

James, I love your style of writing, why did it take so long for you to put out another book, I have them all & cherish each & every one .
