It is made of metal. I don't think any codes in the US would allow a plastic one.

there is no flow rate, it's just a hose that connects from wall to shower head, whatever shower head you get will determine the flow rate.

I have very thin wood bathroom walks. About 1/2" thick. Well this stay supported and not fall out?

Very Nice Chrome Finish

Shower Arm and Flange, was easy to install and the length was perfect. Quality is in the looks and the manufacture name, DELTA. With some Teflon tape their was no leakage.
