I've also purchased their A5 size. Overall, they run slightly smaller than other inserts. The paper is thick, no bleed through with most gel pens, unless you go over the area multiple times. I would prefer a smoother paper, but at this price, I'm happy with them, overall. My only complaint would be how much the first and last pages are glued to the cover. I use the notebook in a traveler's notebook setup and write with a Sharpie fine point pen.The notebook size is slightly wider and slightly longer than a Moleskine or Field Notes, so it gives you a little more room to write on, but it's still small enough to carry around.I am very happy with the notebook. There is very, very little shadowing. Out of all the major brands that I've tried, this is the best. Bear in mind the pen I use, though; I cannot vouch for other pens.I intend to buy more of these and continue to use them in my setup. I like the size, but they are just a little too narrow, so I decided to try the A6 size notebooks and bought the Northbooks A6. I am very happy with my decision. The notebooks are very well made, attractive and comfortable to use, and reasonably priced. The cover is good quality and the paper works well, no bleedthrough. No frills or extra lines that are not needed. Clean design.
