Eclectic and electric; For the Apprentice, Journeyman and Master.
Charlie has crafted a book that speaks about lucid dreaming on many levels. The HOW-TO section offers the level of instruction that novices need, while serving up novel approaches for those already active in their exploration. He gives accurate current information on the brain/body science of what is happening when we are conscious in the unconscious process of dreaming. There is context given as to how the pursuit of lucid dreaming can fit within a spiritual path.Historically he discusses the lineage of lucid dreaming, offering an in-depth look at how it is woven into Tibetan Buddhism, as well as a review of the modern pioneers of this phenomenon. There is a frank discussion of the confusion that arises between Out of Body Experiences and Lucid Dreaming. And for those who want to feed their mind just before bed on stories of lucid dreaming experiences, Charlie offers some fascinating accounts of his nocturnal adventures.Having been intimately involved in the study of lucid dreaming back in the early days, as recounted in my own book, I can assure you that Charlie Morley knows his stuff. His writing is accessible, passionate and effective. An authentic lucid dreamer and born teacher. All in all, a delicious and nourishing feast with something for everyone's taste and appetite.

Insightful and lighthearted, this is a must-read for students of lucidity
This is, quite simply, one of the best books available about lucid dreaming and dream yoga. From the start, Charlie's gentle and lighthearted spirit shines through the text. He is an expert with an incredible depth of experience -- but he does not take himself or the subject matter too seriously. His book demonstrates the principle of how the greatest power requires the lightest touch. Lucid dreaming is a very subtle art, requiring both commitment and playfulness. In this book, Charlie marshals both qualities. He provides us with his his unique approach to many well-known techniques and introduces us to some very original techniques that he has developed through years of personal practice. The underlying power of the book (which has also undoubtedly fueled Charlie's own success with lucid dreaming), however, is his kind, sincere, playful, and lighthearted spirit.Chris CunniffeLucid Coaching, LLCMount Pleasant, SC

A True Must-Have For Any LD Library
I can't say enough good things about this book - any serious oneironaut should have this as part of their collection! All the usual tips and tricks are here, but what sets this apart is how he is able to blend spirituality into LD practice...nothing preachy, just thoughtful advice on how to approach life while both "sleeping" and "awake". Reading this reminded me of when I first discovered Eckhart Tolle - it was inspiring and powerful and many times makes you stop and put the book down so that you can meditate on ideas and really let things sink in. He has incorporated LD into a Buddhist philosophy of living and it goes way beyond LD, it is more like a spiritual lifestyle guide using LD as a tool for awakening. He was one of the first Westerners officially authorized to teach LD within the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and that says quite a bit - people like him are now coming to the forefront and expanding the dialogue of just how powerful this skill can be!

Opened up anew reality.
This was my first introduction into lucid dreaming. As often does with books, it arrived into my world when I was open to learning about this subject. Not only did I have my first dream, but deep dived into Charlie’s world. I read more of his books and completed his online course.I love how he teaches and love his vibe. Whether you’re a new conscious dreamer or a reality bending veteran this book is a winner.

I enjoyed the read
I enjoyed the read, the history of monks and how they use dreams was super interesting. It was hard for me to adapt the techniques, however I don't believe it was the fault of the writer and the ones i did try worked. Over all I think the book is really well written it's just not an easy process for everyone...I would recommend it though to folks who are apt to this type of dreaming

Extremely helpful
Fantastic book. Gives you everything you need to know on how to develop the skills needed to have lucid dreams and then to go much deeper into using that ability to develop the qualities of kindness, compassion, and clear-thinking, in a powerful way once you have access to the dreaming state.I have been keeping a dream journal for a few weeks and I am beginning to have more and more frequent lucid dreams. I even had a lucid dream two nights in a row at the end of last week.Simply, take the information, commit yourself to practicing, don't be discouraged into giving up. You'll get it.

Wake Up and Get This One Right Away
After reading Roberts Waggoner's excellent book "Lucid Dreaming" and "A Field Guide to Lucid Dreaming" by Tucillo, Zeizel and Peisel" I let a few years go by without putting anything into practice. By the way both books are recommended. Then I had a few medium-lucidity lucid dreams.... I recognized I was dreaming but couldn't change the dream landscape. Now I feel the urge to get more serious and after a long perusal period, I settled on this book and a decision to re-read the first two mentioned. This is an excellent book if you are looking for a more sensible and deeper spiritual perspective on LD. Morley is a persuasive writer who doesn't bore with long-winded filler prose and old tired techniques you can find anywhere online (yawn). You can almost feel his power, integrity, sage wisdom and good nature streaming through the pages. I am still in the process of preparing myself for greater lucidity and I am certain that with his good vibrations, experience and advice I will make friends with my unconscious and establish a relationship that is strong enough to evoke high lucidity conscious dreams. I have no hesitation in recommending this text as one any serious Oneironaut should have next to the bed.

Wow!
Dreams of Awakening is an absolutely incredible book, and I have found it to be life changing. I first read it around four years ago at the recommendation of a friend and my mind was blown! For the past year I have actively been applying the techniques and incorporating a mindful dream practice into my life, with amazing results, including several powerful Lucid Dreams and a relationship with my unconscious that I had no idea was possible. The knock-on effect this is having on my mental health and wellbeing, and relationships with myself and others has been unimaginable. It does take work and effort but it is so worth it.Charlie’s energy and enthusiasm is contagious. Throughout the book he comes across as genuine, honest and encouraging, and his passion shines through in his writing. I find his anecdotes and examples from his experiences and dreaming practices helpful and inspiring. Furthermore, the sincerity in which he writes helps me feel supported in my own exploration of this fascinating subject. As an aside, I have been fortunate in attending a dream retreat and a workshop led by Charlie, confirming the above qualities (and more) in his capacity as a writer, teacher and human being… I highly recommend going to hear him speak if you can!!What I especially love about this book in particular, is that it places Lucid Dreaming within the bigger context of dream and sleep, interwoven throughout with a history of dream practice, primarily focused around Tibetan Buddhism, while also bringing in neurology and psychotherapy elements too. This makes for a fascinating read that has nurtured a deep respect for sleep and an understanding that, rather than dream control, a Lucid Dream is a powerful union between conscious awareness and the unconscious mind, enabling the co-creation of incredibly nourishing experiences that are just out of this world!I had never heard of Lucid Dreaming before I read this book. The first time I read about it, the concept was very hard to believe. Having experienced it first hand, through Charlie’s helpful guidance, I look around at this wakeful reality with new eyes! This book has become a well-thumbed go to resource, and I’m on my fourth time of reading it. There has been something new to take away each time, as I’m sure will continue to be the case.A final aspect that has really stuck in my mind is that how, by engaging in these practices, we bring more kindness into this world, toward ourselves and others, as interacting with a dreamscape created by our minds helps us see through the illusions and projections of our waking state. I am really starting to experience and understand this. It is profound, and certainly not to be taken lightly – the difference this makes in a society that so desperately needs a bit more love, acceptance and tolerance is huge, and an incredible gift to be contributing.

Great book
Fantastic book. I totally recommended it. I read it before and decided that it could be a good gift for my boyfriend, And indeed it would be also a gift for myself as well, as I would like to read it again and again to go further into the lucid dreaming techniques of meditation. About the shipment, the book was as expected and delivered very fast. Thanks!
