Nice Writing and Travelogue!
Still reading, about halfway through the book. It's good writing and entertaining. Though I think it's a book detailing the travelogue and biography part of ZAMM rather than the philosophical side of it. I think I'm going to switch to Guidebook to ZAMM now that it has been delivered as well.

Loved it
I read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (ZMM); this is a good follow up. Some others that have read ZMM had trouble following it. This book documents the trip, reminiscing about the author's love of Pirsig's book and trip, and the recreation of it. A compare and contrast of a trip of what time has and hasn't touched. Also adds some insight into the original book.

Interesting insights
If you read the original zen book then this may prove fascinating reading. Following the trail of the original zen journey is the sort of Sentimental thing I'd be prone to do, I don't live in USA so this is the next best thing for me.great reading about him meeting the very people who mr pirsig met on his original journey. Book have an interesting insight to the personality of Mr Pirsig too, who turned out to have a seemingly different personality to the one I thought he had from my reading of the original over 20 years ago.

good book
Very interesting, I have always heard of the "Zen and the art of motorcycle repair", a book from my parents generations. This book lead me to read Zen and the art of motorcycle repair but I like this book better. The history of this cultural phenomenon is more interesting that the root cause for myself, then again I think most metaphysical mumbo jumbo is just plain hogwash (not because it is too complicated but because its nothing that someone tries to make into something, a twisting of words and meaning). I actually came across this book while looking into motorcycle repair and I'm glad I gave it a chance. Good read, well written and it kept my interest through out.
