Will it be messy if I cut these?

Extremely messy, all the pieces shred really badly. But once the arrangement is made, it will be beautiful.

What size vase works best for the 46” - 10 stem to make it look nice if you are going to set it on the floor? I want it to look full. Any suggestions?

Well, I don't know the exact height of my vase, but I figure about 12", and the opening is rather small and the Pampas Grass looks lovely. I did cut the stems down about 4 or five inches.
