Q: Are the small slits enough ventilation for a bioactive enclosure for a jumping spider?

That's exactly what I use mine for. My first jumping spider. I had him as a sling in a smaller enclosur. And when I moved him to this one, I was worried that with both holes being near top it wouldn't be enough air movement so i put a couple holes near bottom. If you are still feeding fruit flies, you might need to add mesh to slits cuz they are probably small enough for fruit flies to get through.

Q: Can i attach a heat pad or would the acrylic melt?

The box says “the temperature of the heating lamp cannot be higher than 122°F(50°C) or the acrylic will melt.”
