So useful I bought one in every size!
I liked this scoop so much that I eventually purchased all of the available sizes. I cook and bake frequently, and the different capacities make it much easier to create consistent portions. I use the smaller scoops for cookies and meatballs and the larger ones for batter and other foods that I want measured evenly. The #8 scoop holds a generous half-cup portion, so shoppers should check the capacity carefully rather than assuming it is a standard cookie scoop. The trigger release makes portioning quicker and less messy, and the different handle colors help me identify the size I need. This has become one of my most frequently used types of kitchen tool.

So cheap, why such good reviews?
This scooper is CRAP. First scoop of soft cookie dough and the handle completely collapsed in on itself (see photo with arrow) with minimal force, as if the "metal" was melted butter. Then the circle piece that is supposed to scrape the scoop got stuck in the locked position (see photo 2). I had to dig out my cookie dough, and that was that. Useless thing. There is no way this would even handle ice cream unless it was completely melted. Returned. It is a piece of junk. Not sure why there are so many good reviews.

Mechanical works well and I love the size for using to serve mashed potatoes or rice. Washes up nicely in the dishwasher or by hand.

This is NOT a 5.5 tbsp scoop. It's a 4 tbsp scoop.
False description and wasted my money. This scoop actually measures only 1/4 cup (4 tbsp), not the described 5.5 tbsp (1/3 cup scoop). This utensil was nearly $21 so to be falsely advertised like this with no convenient way to return the item or get your money back, is really, really bad.
