Unit was delivered and fairly straightforward to install. It’s not the quickest at opening and closing but does the job. Had an issue with the UPS power supply after a few weeks where by kept tripping. However tech support was great, quickly identified as faulty and replacement arrived quickly. Good product excellent customer service.

Really I rrRelatively easy to install…finer adjustments were sorted with the aid of Zack from Topens….if your going to make a purchase of an electric gate , make sure you have the support network of somebody like Topens….I would recommend and purchase again.

My biggest issue with the installation of the gate and writing the review was just trying to figure out the differences between the many different options available - there’s so many model numbers and it’s very hard to compare and choose. Even the Topens website didn’t really give me a whole lot more info, but fortunately the customer service team are very helpful.This single arm opener kit is mains powered, with the possibility to also install battery back up and a solar kit, but I don’t know the cost or availability of things like the solar kit as I can’t find them available to buy alone. Fortunately, with the number of kit options available, you should be able to find the combination you need already in a pack together.The safety instructions are very clear that this opener should be use for vehicles only, not pedestrians, so although there are safety features, it’s only really intended to be used for vehicles only. It’s also worth checking your gate before ordering - it should be level, have no wheels and swing freely.Installing the gate opener was not without its challenges. The instructions are good (although they are quite universal and I feel they included the locations of where to mount the optional extras which was confusing as they are not included), but of course every single gate and situation is unique, so there’s no one single solution. I would advise reading the full installation instructions (on the Topens website) before buying to ensure you can install it as the instructions (eg you need something to fix the power supply unit to) , and to check if you will need any additional parts. You will need to be a fairly competent DIYer in order to fit the gate opener, and perhaps need a professional for the ac electrical part.The instructions state you will need the following tools:• Power Drill• Tape Measure• Open End Wrenches - 14# &17# or Adjustable Wrenches• Wire Strippers• C-Clamps - small, medium, and large• Level• Hacksaw or Heavy Duty Bolt Cutters• Phillips ScrewdriverOnce installed I have found the opener to be reliable and very useful. It’s fairly unobtrusive looking for a retrofitted item and the quality seems good of all the parts in the kit. If I was being a bit picky I’d say the remote control itself is a bit naff- the design of this doesn’t seem to have moved on since the remote I had for a gated community I lived in in the 90’s, it’s maybe time for a bit of an update. This feels very noticeable because it’s the one thing you use and touch every time you open or close the gate!

This is a good, well made set that includes everything required to get up and running with an electric gate. Installation and setup might be a bit daunting if you're not technically inclined, but it's really not that complicated if you follow the instructions.The motor will detect if there's an obstruction in the way of the gate, which makes it much safer since it won't attempt to crush anything / anyone that gets caught in a closing gate. It also comes with a warning beacon and photodiode sensors to detect something blocking between the gate posts so it won't close on your car if you stop part way through the gate.There seem to be a good range of additional accesories that you can add on. Adding batteries seems like a very good idea so it will continue to work even during a power cut, and if it's mounted away from a power source then the solar panel sounds ideal.

I ordered this single swing for my rear garden gate access point.Arrived well protected in branded box.Supplied with everything you need to install, fixtures, fittings, cabling and fool proof instruction. Customer support available immediately on live chat, great customer service provided.I was able to install automated arm to gate and link to power supply without professional help. Took 2 hours to fit but once connected the gate was functional.I had to change set up of how the gate was opening as original set up was for gates to be pushed open but I had issues with gate opening outwards on public path. I had to change settings to have gate opening inwards but pulling the gate towards the arm rather than pushing outwards. The gate now opens inwards and doesn't obstruct public pathway.No more struggling opening gate when taking out garden and waste bins, provides extra security as I know gate is always shut.Overall, excellent quality robust product. Good value for money in setting up automated gate for less than £230.I would recommend this product.
