Installing this gate takes a bit of work and muscle, but once you get it in properly, it's in. (Follow the directions closely!) It works with pressure alone--no permanent installation required, so it won't scar your walls or trim.Extremely study and well made. I won't swear that no dog or kid on Earth could knock it over, but I don't want to meet the dog and kid that can!The gate swings in both directions. The process for releasing it is not intuitive--we always have to explain it to house guests, but once you know how to do it, it's easy and you can do it with one hand.Over the years, I've installed a lot of doggie/kiddie gates and this is probably the best one we've ever used.

Yes, I like the sturdiness and beauty of this gate. However, it took my wife and I to hold it above the base board and secure the expansion legs on the side. The door works in both directions and it stays open if you want it that way. Definitely worth the money.

This gate is fantastic, and is so nice not to have to take it down to walk through or awkwardly climb over. I'll list a few thoughts below. A lot of pros and one con!1) Is this thing Cheap and Flimsy!?No, and Yes. Let me explain. The gate itself is made out of square metal bars that are painted white. This is great for dogs as some like to chew up plastic and wooden gates. So A+ is this respect. Also its quite sturdy and my bigger dogs can put their weight on the top and it won't collapse or move at all. Good Stuff.Now the bad part ... the latch is all plastic. If you are an adult and are careful every time you open it you will probably get a few years of use before the little plastic tabs that hold it closed break. This is definately the weak point of the gate! And with a no-name company like this good luck getting a replacement so be careful. Either way these are pretty cheap compared to the nicer models and i can buy 2 or 3 of these for the same price as 1 of them. Probably will have to because seriously why is the latch plastic?2) The GAP!This is a non issue, there is a huge sign on the gate explaining how to close the gap once installed. And once you tighten the top you can adjust the gap to whatever size works best. Its really quite intuitive!3) Wall DAMAGE!Yes this thing will damage your drywall. Especially if you tighten it up quite a bit. There is a solution however. Search amazon for "Wall Nanny" these things are spectacular. Trust me get them. Helps to have a second person hold them up while you install the gate. If you plan to take the gate down often, then you might consider putting in a drywall anchor and screwing them in.4) Dogs ... ok, but is it good for KIDS?Well my kids are teenagers, and one of them couldn't figure out how to open it, so it was pretty good in that respect. As for toddlers? Well I'd be careful using this with kids, and would probably get one that attaches to the wall permanently, especially if you are using this around stairs or keeping them out of dangerous areas. I'd be if installed properly 99% of kids couldn't get through it or knock it off but it seems like a risk i wouldn't take. Since it's metal its also quite heavy and if your kiddo hulk smashes this thing it could fall on them or pinch a finger/etc. I'd seriously skip this for small children. But having said all that its great for teens, that's all i can really speak to.

We use to have a gate that you had to step over to get upstairs but no more. This gate it perfect for keeping the dogs from running upstairs. East gate to open and close to us human folk

I am loving this gate so much! It’s perfect for my 15 month old who is very curious of the stairs. It’s super easy to open and closes right behind you without having to lift it or press a button to close it back. It’s beautiful for a baby gate and I love how it blends in with our home. It’s a generous height too!

The gate is great: sturdy, relatively easy to assemble and install, fits nicely. However, it's not for small dogs: the opening (i.e. distance between bars) where the door hinge sits is slightly wider than the rest and our small dog figured that out within a day, and goes through it now at will. If the door had had narrower openings or the dog would have been bigger, it would have been perfect..Edit: looking around other at gates, they all have the same issue with gaps. So I zip-tied small flat wooden panels on the bigger openings and now it works great!

I purchased two of these gates. They install reasonably easily. The manufacturer provides wall protecting cups, but they gate mounts slides when the gates slam closed if you use the cups. Eventually, the gate will slide out of the doorway and fall. The supports are rubberized which doesn't seem to mark up the wall and keep the gate from moving much with each gate closure. It eventually will move out of place, but it takes weeks or longer for that to happen. One of the gates that we received doesn't open and close very well (takes a lot of jiggling of the handle) so there are quality defect issues. But they are not that terrible defects. Other than the handle on one not opening every time, it is a decent product.

Received relatively quick. Little tricky to get the proper opening movements down but it'll come. Seems sturdy enough. Actually looks kinda nice. Definitely suits our need to keep our small dog out of the specific area. Would purchase again. Would recommend to others.

To those who might think the gate is a defect upon unboxing, because the shape seems bent and the latch doesn't appear to meet the catch - it's most likely not. It's designed that way, so that after you tighten the 4 bolts against the supporting surface, the shape will be straightened out, and latch meets the catch.I am unhappy with my purchase however because of the following reason.I purchase the gate through Warehouse deal, with condition labeled "Very good", priced at a 26% discount. Personally I'd only rate it borderline "Acceptable". The packaging was broken in many places. Upon assembling the gate after watching a Youtube tutorial, since it didn't come with an installation manual, I found myself left with a strange small plastic cylinder part with a screw in one end and a spring over it, which didn't seem to fit anywhere. I scrolled through the reviews and noticed a couple of them talking about a broken top spring after using the gate for sometime. One with a photo of it. I am pretty sure I got one of these guys' return. By inspecting my gate, the small cylinder should be the part in the top hinge for securing, and auto-close, because these are the 2 things the gate is not functioning.Personally I'd only pay less than half the price, and it's only ok for dogs who can't lift the swinging door to detach it from the structure. It's useless for babies as it's a safety hazard.I've had many great purchases from Warehouse deals before, but not my recent ones. It seems Warehouse deals staffs don't do a good job at inspecting and rating products these days. If I am to return this gate, most likely someone else will just get this broken gate, so I would chose not to, to save someone else the hassle.

After I read informations and reviews for different products, I had decided to purchase this.All products have same mechanism.This item is very easy to install. I took time to align, eventually I used level to complete.Swing open both side, 90 degree to hold open or just let it close automatically.Material is steels and seems to solid. Small parts are plastic, but it should ok unless we use it roughly.I’m happy to have this gate.One thing, anchor connect between main gate and extensions is kind of cap and once you tightly install, it’s heard to take it out.Initially I install extensions both side, but I had decided to put 2 extension on the same side.I recommend that you prearrange to lightly cap, then wear it tightly.

Perfect gate for wider openings. We have a 39.75” opening on our stairs, tried other gates with varying attachments and nothing worked. Gate is very sturdy (if yours is not, it’s user error). Gate is easy to open for adults (if you over tighten it is very difficult (again user error). Gate automatically closes which is a nice feature. Overall great purchase. Keeps dogs and kids from climbing the stairs.

Fit perfectly in my stairs and was super easy to install. It is also very sturdy once installed, my son stood up against it and was pushing but the gate did not budge at all. Another thing I like about this gate is that you can keep it open if you extend it all the way and if your just walking through and don’t open it all the way then it shuts automatically behind you.Overall very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend to all parents.

So happy with this gate,..it's sturdy! and all metal...and best of all...set up was so easy ...required no tools.Once installed properly ...even my 80 pound German shepherd dog can't move it..Got great deal on Amazon Warehouse...paying 46$ for it..But given the quality... would definitely pay full price.
