Our old house was perfect for Nerf battles. We had blinds set up and dozens of guns and ammo stashes around the house. But we moved, and the new house just isn't well suited for indoor Nerf play. No problem, move everything outside, right? Yeah, until the first time I ran over Nerf darts with a lawnmower and made foam snow. Time to rethink our family battles. This is when we discovered gel blasters. After doing tons of review reading, I settled on the MAK04 blasters by Tansar. I honestly couldn't tell you how much better or worse than other blasters they are, because I've never shot any others, but I like the aesthetics. I can say that they are impressively accurate, very consistently functional, fairly priced, highly rated, and an absolute joy to play with. We've never run the batteries completely down in a single session, and we've played with them for hours on end. I really like the blowback action and high rate of fire. Our family often shoots firearms, so it's not easy to impress the kids with toy guns, but these stand out as well-designed and realistic (for something that is obviously designed to be a toy). They can be used with or without the stock, and the hopper is held in place by a removable adapter that slides onto the rail. I do wish the hopper didn't completely block the sights, but the mag/drum-fed gel blasters are just not rated very well, so I'll take something that actually works. You just can't beat gravity, as any paint baller well knows. My other favorite feature is the removable battery. With these things getting daily use, I'd rather not have a pile of guns on the counter constantly recharging. The fact that I can keep all the batteries topped off with a USB multi port charger is fantastic, and keeps the wife very happy, which keeps us all very happy. We've gone through tens of thousands of gel balls, and rarely had any issues with jams. Usually just shaking the gun a little clears things up. Only once did we have a broken gel ball that got stuck right before the firing mechanism that we had to push down into the chamber to clear it (we used a toothpick). Otherwise, all four of ours have worked flawlessly and are incredibly fun to play with. The biggest problem is that I'm probably going to have to buy more. All the neighborhood kids want to play with them and there aren't enough to go around!

When I got this gun, it looked pretty good, though it was smaller than I expected. When I first shot it, the gelletes didn't shoot in a straight line, but it seemed to work better the longer I used it. I am kind of tough on toys, but I was surprised that it cracked so easily. It doesn't work at all anymore, even when it's fully charged. UPDATE: Changed from 3 stars to 5 stars as the seller reached out to me and offered a new product or refund. Grandfather, dad, grandson and all the uncles got one for Christmas! It was an epic battle! They had a blast! Great memory and nobody had any breaks. Good quality and extra gel ammo was great to have!

My 8yr old little boy loves his gel ball blaster gun!

The first few days I used it, I thought it was okay, but after that every time I put the ammo in, and tilt the gun ever so slightly, all of the ammo just slips out the front of the gun. It makes a mess everywhere. It also doesn't shoot straight at all. It always shoots either left, right, down, or up. Most of the time, it also shoots like 5 bullets at once. I paid for a normal working gel blaster, but got a stupid not working gel blaster. in the pictures they brag about how convinient their battery is but I think they spent too much time working on the battery and not enough time making the gun actually work. Even on the first day I hear loose springs and broken parts shake inside the gun when im running or walking with it. Terrible gun. DO NOT buy tansar

My kid loves it. The price was right and delivery was fast. The kids are already spending a great deal of time outside, playing. As the weather continues to get warmer and the days get longer, they'll be out for hours. This sounds heavenly! Probably not so much for the neighbors. It shoots rapidly, which was definitely a requirement from my kid. The strap is great as he can have this one on while holding a second blaster. Charging time is quick, but we will need to look to see if back up chargers are available and there is down time for charging, and they don't last very long. Would definitely recommend this blaster. I've even been caught a time or two running around with the blaster and playing.

Super fun loved it. But they only last a summer season before batteries give up the ghost and you can't just get new batteries. Also the motor gave out on 1 of the 2 I purchased. If it had lasted another year would 5 stars. Just don't count on it working next year. Seller saw ny original review and offered to replace it for me. Amazing Customer service

We bought two of these because the first one we bought was so fun. One thing to watch is the gel balls need to be totally dry before using them in the gun, as the moisture got inside the gun and the trigger would not shut off. It just kept firing. Amazon sent me a replacement, so I would give them a 5-star for customer service.
