Ashton Joey Back Stage 3/4 Size Electric Guitar - Matt Black

I read the review on here that was complaining about the the shiny finish and decided to gamble.....I wanted the gloss finish but preferred the matt finish price tag!!!!! ;-) Sure enough, a gloss guitar arrived at the best part of £30 less than if I'd ordered the gloss one.Plays ok, a buzzy 12th fret on the low E string, but what do you expect for around £80? The neck is slim and together with the short scale suits smaller hands well. There are a couple of minor flaws in the body that were clearly there before the finish was applied. Has a nice tone and a reasonable output, the switch is silent in operation, the knobs do what they're meant to and the tone between the pickups is what you would expect.I'm not wholly convinced that the machine heads are that good, but then i'm more used to tuning with fine tuners at the bridge day to day which clearly isn't going to happen here....All in all a decent buy, plays and sounds fine though i'm sure it'll be better once its had a setup, that'll have to wait until after her birthday though.
