This gel seat cushion is only about an inch thick and although it holds up well, it does feel overly firm before long. I have hip and back pain coupled with a job that requires me to be seated at a desk for long periods of time, and this cushion feels great early in the day, then not quite soft enough as the day goes along. I am fat, though, so if you’re thinner and like less seat padding, it may be just right for you.It’s not really a gel construction but rather a soft, honeycombed, rubbery type of padding. The top is soft, smooth fabric and the bottom is the honeycomb surface, which clings to my desk chair and keeps it in place well. It folds easily for storage or to carry it, say if you wanted to move it regularly from office to car. I’ve been using it for several weeks and it shows no signs of wear and tear. It looks as if it would be washable on a gentle cycle, but I haven’t actually tried this.

It’s comfortable and easy to use and clean. I decided to use it in the car for lower back support. Top side is a washable embossed vinyl fabric with reinforced edging. Cushion inside is a dark blue plasatic waffle matrix. Dimensions shown on the listing are accurate. This is comfortable to sit on, and the contouring provides a little extra ventilation.Good product.
