I cannot believe how much I love this pencil sharpener! 😲 We just received it today and I used it to sharpen about 100 colored pencils and a dozen regular pencils and not one of them broke, jammed or ate too much of the pencil which happens with every manual, electric or battery powered pencil sharpener we’ve tried over the last couple years. My kids are very much into arts and crafts and they enjoy using gel pens, markers and rarely crayons but colored pencils are our favorite and it’s been so frustrating to be able to sharpen one and not lose half of the pencil because the tip breaks off as soon as it’s sharpened. With this sharpener, they come out nice and pointy and nowhere does it show that it’s going to immediately break off nor does it once we start using it.Another nice feature is all the lead pencils that have the fancy rappers with designs and pictures on them always jam up other sharpeners for me because it’s a thick plastic whereas this one just shreds it with the wood, so no clogging or jamming. Of course one of the best parts with the tips not breaking off during sharpening is I didn’t have to spend a lot of time trying to get the tip back out of the sharpener with my fingernails or whatever I can figure out to get it out with. I think one of the reasons it works so good and why I picked it is that it doesn’t use a razor blade to sharpen the pencil. Yay!I have to admit when I first opened it I was a little worried because it felt like it might be a little bit cheap but I was pleasantly surprised by its performance and I couldn’t recommend this sharpener more - especially for the price! In addition to the price another great feature is that when you’re home or in an office you can plug it in, saving batteries and when you’re on the go, (road or plane trips) it will also work off of batteries. It sharpens them very quickly and has a sensor to stop sharpening once it’s sharpened, keeping you from over sharpening it.Oh, one more feature that I found is cool is it also has the ability to adjust if the tip comes out pointy or flat. You can adjust it to how you want the tip to be according to your usage of the pencil. I didn’t think that would be a big deal but I’m finding that I really like it.

I never thought I would be leaving a raving review of a pencil sharpener, but here I am- I'm that dad, haha! I love this pencil sharpener, like a lot. From the moment I got it, I could tell the company that makes it cares about quality. There's an adjustable dial on the side that you can dial up or down for how soft or hard your lead is- which is amazing if you're an artist and use different lead softness levels, or if you're like me- a dad sharpening colored pencils so your 3 year old can promptly break the points off them... haha :DI've used it both with the batteries and with the included USB charger-- which is also really freaking cool. The adapter is like the one you get for your iphone or android phones to charge them with, so if for some reason I lose that base I can just use any of the 8 gazillion I have lying around my house. I love that it has a battery function and is super compact too. This would have been so so so so so nice to have when I was in school art classes to keep in my bag- way better than those piece of junk cheapo pencil sharpeners that always break your lead off your pencil in the freaking sharpener then you have to figure out how to get the damn led unstuck just to sharpen your pencil again. This is awesome. The battery function is nice so you can sharpen wherever you are or go.Another SUPER cool feature (teachers you will love this) it has an AUTO OFF! For real. So cool. When it's done sharpening at whatever lead thickness you have it set to, it automatically stops. My 3rd grade self is crying inside because I used to love grinding my pencils down to nubs just to annoy my teacher/waste time (yeah, I was that kid), but my adult self loves it because I now know that most of the times our teachers have to buy boatloads of pencils for their classrooms and nothing's worse than your students wasting your money in the form of one nubby pencil at a time.So whether you're like me- a dad of kids with more coloring books than cells in a human body, a teacher with a need of stopping your students from grinding your money way to pencil nubs, or a student or artist that just wants to have the coolest and most useful sharpener ever-- I highly recommend this. Hell, if you don't want to buy one you can buy one for me and I can donate them to all the teachers I know. Just buy one- you won't regret it.

My wife is a former teacher. This year she was getting our kids classroom supplies ready before the first day of school. Being a slow learner but still a good husband, I decided to purchase a new electric pencil sharpener as there we 5-6 boxes of #2 pencils to sharpen and each pack contains 24 pencils.As a family we are trying to make purchases that leave as little of a footprint in our house. When I make a purchase like this one, I like to imagine how it will fit next to any other accessories or if it can be easily put somewhere out of sight. It also has to work though. When sharpening pencils you don't want the sharpener jamming up on you. So as I was looking, I found the Ex-20 and decided to give it a try.As a prime member I received free 2 day shipping and my item arrived on time as expected. The packaging is very nice and sturdy. There was a cardboard guide/protector to help keep things from moving around in the box plus offer some protection, I imagine. Instructions were clear and there is also a warranty card included which is nice. It is a really nice size and shape that I feel can fit perfectly in the drawer of my desk. With it being a vertical sharpener, it's easy to see in the clear compartment when the shavings are at maximum capacity. There's not guesswork.How does it work?!? Excellent. There is a horizontal dial on the side to adjust the sharpening power. The LED light indicator is useful as well as accurate. Needless to say, this made sharpening all those pencils easy and somewhat of a family fun activity as our kids participated as well.One added bonus is the USB - AC adapter. This is a nice touch.
