Cheaper and Better
This key was a game changer. My old key was raggedy and the buttons wouldn't click, so I knew it was high time for me to get a new one. Dealerships wanted to charge me over $200 just for 1 key! I knew I could find one for a better price, so I came here. The quality feels just as good as OEM, but the price is less than 1/4! Getting it loaded to my Explorer was a tad confusing, but after finding several videos on how to get it paired it was a 5 minute ordeal. I would recommend this to anyone who has an Explorer!

Saved a bunch of money with these great replacement remotes
It works! I only had one factory intelligent remote when I bought my used 2013 Lincoln mkx. One of the buttons on that remote broke so I needed to replace it. I researched several options and chose this one based on reviews. I didn’t want to pay the exorbitant cost of getting the remote and programming by the dealership. There were a few comments on not being able to program the remote by the users, but that’s a misunderstanding of the process. Per Ford, the end user must have 2ea programmed remotes functioning before the user can self-program a3rd remote. I thought the description from the seller clearly explained that, and stated one might need to have an auto locksmith or the dealer do the programming. With only one partially working factory remote I knew I had to have it professionally done. I called a local locksmith and had 2ea remotes programmed and the emergency keys ib each remote cut all for less than one remote from the dealership. The comments also stated that sone took their remotes to locksmith’s but were told they couldn’t be programmed. They would have to take them to the dealership, or magically purchase a Ford remote from the locksmith and oay way too much.I had no issue having these remotes programmed by a reputable locksmith that wasn’t trying to upsell me. Both remotes were programmed and keys cut in about 30 minutes. All functions of my highly featured car eork flawlessly. A great buy that saved me a ton if money.

Great savings! Saved hundreds
Worked perfectly for my Ford Flex 2016! Note: you need 2 active keys to program yourself.

COULDN'T SNAP NEW KEY FOB TOGETHER
This item was well rated on reviews, but the key fob outer 2 part shells were NOT snapped together upon arrival, and I COULD NOT snap them together myself despite exerting considerable pressure; I tried it even with none of the parts inserted inside, but it still wouldn't snap together. . I needed a replacement because the 5 little glued on contact disks inside my original key fob were coming loose and scattering out of place inside the unit making my car randomly honk. I was able to take the little plastic film containing the new unit's 5 disks, and inserted that in my old key fob, so now I have a workable old unit with the new disks. So I can't really return the defective new fob. But the one shipped to me just would not snap together. Defective manufacturing tolerances. Amazon did not offer a pure replacement option! It's not worth driving to Kohl's 8 miles to return this defective shell, and I did need one internal part. SO I DEFINTELY CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS UNIT.

Easy Replacement for my Ford Fob (Updated)
One of the buttons got stuck and ultimately failed on the fob of my 2017 Ford Flex. I called the dealership and they wanted $200 to replace the fob. Instead, I ordered this one, put the PCB and battery from my old one into this one, and sealed it back up. Works great, and saved $185. Found lots of tutorial "how-to" videos online to do the swap, but it was super easy. Now all my buttons work again.Update: The battery on my fob just died (I should have replaced it when I swapped the guts of my original one into this one) so I had to reopen the new fob and replace the battery. My goodness, what a battle! The fob's rear cover came off in two pieces (instead of one) and the sliding button that releases the key went flying. Getting the second half of the cover unsnapped was quite the fight. I was finally able to remove it and replace the battery, but the sliding switch didn't go back in correctly and I suspect the next time I have to swap the battery I'll have to destroy the fob to open it. That being said, if I have to buy a new one at $10 every couple of years that's still better than giving $200 to Ford for an OEM replacement.

Changer battery my before trying to reprogram
CHANGE THE BATTERY BEFORE PROGRAMMING. The battery was likely dead when I tried to reprogram so it failed. Once I found a video of how to reprogram my key on YouTube, the guy suggested replacing the battery. Once I replace the battery with a new one, the reprogramming worked within one try. I found no issues with the valet key fitting or locking into place. Very nice product! Durable and compatible with our 2017 Ford Flex. Our manual had old instructions in it so we had to YouTube how to actually do it with a keyless fob.All steps consecutive within 30 minutes:1. Get in car with both old fobs that work and set down somewhere in car. Let screens/accessory power turn off. Put NEW fob in center console key area (key ring be at the rear with the buttons facing toward the right-hand side).2. Press driver or passenger unlock button 3 times3. Press brake pedal once4. Press driver or passenger lock button 3 times5. Press break pedal once6. Press start/stop button (some flash some don’t)7. Wait 5 seconds, take new key out of center console and check to see if lock, unlock, tail gate work.If not, wait one minute and try again. We will see how long it lasts…. :)

Works great for a 2012 Ford Explorer
Works perfectly as a replacement for my fob from a 2012 Ford Explorer. You take the board out of your existing fob and insert it into this new one. Super easy to do, and saves a fortune over buying from Ford too!
