Win7 Enterprise 64bit Plug and Play - works great!
** 07/2013 UPDATE -- Win7 Enterprise 64bit Plug and Play - this Best Connectivity / SYBA MCS9900 PCIe-Parallel card works great!Just built a new ASUS Z87-Plus MB / Intel Core i7-4770 Haswell PC to retire an aging and ailing WinXP Pro SP3 32bit, BIOSTAR K8M800 AM2 AGP Parallel-Ported MB, & AMD Athlon64 X2 6k+ 3GHz AM2 CPU'd PC. Since all the new MotherBoards no longer have built-in parallel ports and I wanted to keep using my Workhorse HP Laserjet 5 with 66MB Printer RAM and Duplexer, I transferred this printer card from the below ABIT PC to this new ASUS build. Tested with a new Belkin Bidirectional Parallel Printer cable and it worked Perfectly - Win7 Enterprise 64bit recognized the Printer instantly -- VERY HAPPY! Printer prints as fast as it ever could.** Special note: If the printer is stalling print jobs and/or printing out gibberish, Check connection with a new Bidirectional Parallel Printer Cable - *REPLACE THE CABLE*!!I found that the original, older Belkin Parallel cable worked good with the above BIOSTAR WinXP-32b Parallel-Ported PC, but NO GOOD (Stalled print jobs which yielded gibberish) with the above Win7-64b ASUS PC with the Best Connectivity / SYBA MCS9900 PCIe-Parallel card.I swapped in the above Belkin cable cable and the setup worked PERFECTLY!2012 - WinXP Pro SP3 32bit Plug and Play - works great! Needed to setup an older, but working great WinXP Pro sp3 32b PC (2005 Universal ABIT KN8 SLI Motherboard w/ an AMD Athlon64x2 4200+ Manchester socket 939 w/ 4GB RAM) for print server duty with an old network-shared HP Laser Jet 5 Printer with 64MB Print RAM and a Duplexer. Old motherboard still new enough not to have a parallel port, but did have 3 unused PCIe 1.0 slots. Installed hardware; loaded drivers from the card's setup disc; and WinXP recognized the printer port and the connected HPLJ5 immediately. Works without a hitch! Good practice - Be sure to make a backup copy of the drivers disc (drivers for WinXP, Vista, Win7, and Linux).

I was unable to use this card. It did install without problems though.
I have a legacy parallel port with this card, but I ultimately couldn't use it because the I/O port is not programmable. I have a dongle for some very expensive software and the card won't work if it can't be configured to address 0378 hexadecimal for the I/O address. I guess it works otherwise, and i waited too long to return it for a refund or exchange.

Worked perfectly for my desired purpose, no hassle to install.
Seems strange to "love" a little computer part like this, but really I can find no faults in it. With very little effort I now have the ability to connect my old Panasonic KX-P1124 dot matrix printer to a much newer PC that did not have a parallel port. I am running Windows 7 64-bit. Installation of the driver for this card went smoothly and quickly, by following the instructions in the manual packaged with it. Once that was done, I just needed to install the driver for the printer itself. Windows didn't list any Panasonic drivers at first, but I clicked the "Windows Update" button (in the add-printer dialog) and, after a long wait, saw a much longer list of printers to choose from. Mine was thankfully on the list, and a test page printed fine. This means I can send to scrap a very old PC that I was only keeping around for printing. No complaints, would definitely recommend to other users of Windows 7.

Works well as expected
Must install included software before plug in the card. Match model number on the mini CD.

It locked up my computer so it wouldn't even start
I have a new computer (has AMD A8 processor with Windows 7 64 bit). It obviously doesn't have the old parallel port, so I bought this so I could use my old printer. I installed it the way the directions indicated, but it locked up the computer so it wouldn't even get past the bios check. It just gave me a black screen with a flashing cursor. I tried plugging it in while it was running, but windows wouldn't recognize it, and when I tried to reboot, I got the black screen again. I'm going to try getting a new cable that adapts to the USB, but if that doesn't work I'll have to buy a new printer (thanks to the computer guru's who don't make the new stuff backwards compatible). Summed up, I've spent almost $20 and a whole afternoon in such frustration I could scream. There ought to be a better way to make things compatible.

Used this to add a Parallel Port to a new PC
A recent build of a Ryzen 1st Gen CPU based system running Kubuntu 18.04 LTS and wished to be able to use an older HP Laserjet 6 as a backup to a Brother Laser printer. The Linux OS is also host to a Windows 7 running under Virtualbox and the Printer is also visible to the Virtual Machine.Great value for the money and worked out of the box w/o drivers in both OS's.

Simple to set up and operates perfectly.
I have some Epson thermal point-of-sale printers that use a parallel connection. It's not easy to buy computers with this port anymore so I've tried parallel to USB converters with very unreliable results and finally ordered this card as a last resort.Installation is very simple - just find an empty PCI-E slot and then go to the Windows driver manager to update the drivers provided on the CD. The steps in the installation leaflet didn't work for me (the setup program exits without doing anything) but this basic workaround did.I haven't seen any hardware conflicts or problems and it operates as if it was always part of the PC. For the price, this is a great alternative to USB converters or buying a new printer.

Syba Parallele PCI-Express-Karte
Preiswerte gute Karte. Tut was sie soll. Unter Windows7 64 bit Installation problemlos. Ein daran angeschlossener alter HP Drucker funktioniert ohne Probleme. Eindeutige Kaufempfehlung. Update: erstaunlicherweise kostete die Karte früher nur 5 Euro..

Works on windows 8.1 64
Its small and compact. Needed to add a parallel for a datamax barcode printer and this did the trick great. Its easy to install and once drivers are installed works perfectly.

Has issues....
Windows 7 - installed and worked but then loses its installation in the Device Manager. Has to be physically removed and re-inserted to repeat the driver installation. Tried the latest drivers from the manufacturers website but still loses its set-up. Could be the PCI-e slot in the computer but I did not have time to test and re-test. Bought a USB --> Parallel cord instead and it is working perfectly.
