'Interesting and Informative'
There is a lot to like about 'Christmas Everyday!'Not only does it provide a chance to re-live a lot of happy memories it made me want to 'dig out some of my old Lp's' and give them a spin! The book is full of intersting information and track listings and chart positions are given for each album and relevant single. Most useful of all though is the information provided regarding promotional performances from the time. With useful tools like 'Youtube' to help out these days you can have a lot of fun searching for the footage mentioned here and delight once more in classic performances from not only u.k. shows like 'Supersonic' and 'TOTP" but foreign t.v. appearances as well.Every album mentioned here is rated by the author and commented upon - something that adds a kind of 'enthusiast chatting to another enthusiast' element to the book. Overall I feel most of Peter's ratings (of the albums I have heard or own here) are pretty accurate but some suggest that the author may not have heard the album that many times and has thus given his 'initial reaction' to them. There are one or two errors (one being to do with 'Gary Glitter's Greatest Hits Lp which it states here failed to chart but actually made no 33) but that I feel is almost inevitable when producing as ambitious a piece of work as this.My main reason for dropping a star though is the rather flimsy construction of the book itself. My copy came with the front cover already curling up and overall the paper quality of the book isn't great so I doubt it will prove that durable. This said there is not a huge amount of actual reading in this book and it is therefore more likely in time to be something that you that you 'refer back to for information' rather than read all the way through again. With a handy Index at the back of the book (that makes finding all of the entries by your favourite artists much easier) 'Christmas Everyday!' is however still well worth buying and with the festive season coming, (if you a looking for something nostalgic and entertaining for an 'aging rocker') then look no further!

Sparse
This was a huge disappointment. It's really just a list of albums with a picture and track listings plus chart positions. Some also have tv promotion details. To any glam fan this stuff is common knowledge that can be gained for anywhere. What's missing is a detailed review or opinion of each album. An album a page takes up the space to make a book but the pages are sparse. I returned it.
