Hello, Our longer-handled cookware, such as the Sauté Pan, Fry Pan, and Saucepan, all have a notch a few inches up the handle. This notch designates at what point the handle should stay cool enough to grab with bare hands. Extended use could cause that warmth to increase slightly further up the handle, but for nearly all regular meals and recipes, it would not. The smaller handles, like those on the Dutch Oven and our three lids, can get a little too hot to handle, and we would recommend some of our stylish Caraway Pot Holders here to complement those pieces and keep your digits safe! Hope this clarifies it!
