Last years model
I bought this when the newer Charge 4 was released, so it was something like half of the RRP. The sound is slightly disappointing straight out of the box, but after a few hours of playing the bass has loosened up and it sound much better. Many of these portable speakers are only mono. Although this one is stereo, the imaging is not very good because the speakers are too close together to do any better. I had considered two separate Flip 2's to get the stereo imaging, but that would sacrifice the thumping base that this unit can produce. I should mention that this unit is solid and seems close to bombproof!

Not as powerful as older models
I bought this because my friend had an older extreme 3 and it was a great product. This one arrived and it is smaller and not as powerful as the older models. Still great stuff...
